The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Absent: The state of not being present; missing. A low whimper escaped my duo-toned maw as the thoughts of my home crossed my mind once again. Being away from Andere Seite wasn't something that I personally asked to happen, but when family calls, you answer, right? Perhaps I wouldn't have gone if my mother wouldn't have been so sick she was practically on the verge of dying. Ebony audettes flattened to my cranium. Why did it have to be her? Why did she have to die now? The damn illness could have been prevented if she would have taken care of it sooner! A lone tear dripped down the side of my face, causing me to immediatly shake my head. "Do not shed a tear for my absence, love. I want you to go on as if I'm still alive. .I love you, Calix." The raspy tone of my mother's last words she had said to me echoed throughout my mind, and I knew I must follow her orders. Don't shed a tear.

Taking a deep breath, I let my mind wander to my home. Andere Seite's borders were getting closer with every step I took, whether it be at a jog or walk, and I would be safe with my queen once more. Seline. Yet another one whom was on my mind since I had left. The crimson and alabaster regal's own presence had been gone at the time of my leave, which only meant that if she returned before I did, what would she think of my absence? What if as soon as I set foot in her borders, she chased me off without hesitation? What if she thought I was a traitor? So many what-if's, it's got my mind in a whirlwind. My self-esteem dropped to a new time low, causing my apex to lower itself towards my constantly moving pillars, my onyx ears flattening down onto my cranial. What if I lost my chances at a rank? Then again, my queen already considered me as a superior- right along side with the Satanicans!

Right then, I felt my heart pick itself back up slightly, my banner raising to the point where it wasn't tucked between my legs guiltily. What really mattered was how I was going to explain everything to Seline. I did not want her to pity me, but then again if I was going to give her the truth, it was possible that it could happen. Shaking my ivory and onyx crown back and forth, I felt my pace quicken as I entered Blossom Forest, my srides lengthening and heart beating faster. Only so much more land before I'm in the comfort and safety of the packland, where I could see my lovely queen and Clover. Clover! The ivory maiden had become the purest soul whom I could trust with everything. It was wierd to say that such a young adult could be my best friend, and my affection towards her was deep. No, not in a relationship sort of way, but our friendship was unbreakable. I considered her related; like my sister. If anything were to happen to her, I didn't know what I would do!

Now that I think about it, the lass was acting a bit wierd before I took my leave, but it was a female thing is what I came to the conclusion to. Everything was passing by in a blur; the light, the foliage, the vargs- they were all streaks in my line of visage as I closed the distance between me and my destination. Only when I neared the borders did I slow my pace to a walk, savoring the moment of my return. Carefully, I stepped over the borders and instantly felt my muscles relax. Finally, a place where I could rest in safety, a place where I could converse with all my friends, a place where I could live. Breathing in the comforting scent of Andere, I felt nothing until I came to the realisation that the scents that I was looking for most were no where to be found. Golden luminaries scanned the horizon as I padded farther into the territory, the terra firma under my pads fading from hard to soft as I hit a luscious patch of grass. Where were they?

The borders were silent, my queen's perfume unavailable for my nostrils to pick up on, and Clover's scent was faded to the point where I could barely make out she was ever here. Muscles started to tense again, the worry sinking in deeper than I would have liked it to. The satisfied emotion slowly crept away, sinking down into the ground below me and dissappearing into the molten lava within the center. Once again we are back to the what-if's: What if something happened while I was away? What if something happened to Clover, or Seline? Imaginary brows furrowed and I felt myself fault in my footing and stumble, but my mind was oblivious to everything. Tracing the stail scent, I wound up in traveling the night scene towards a clearing in the woods, where I stopped and let my ochroid optics scan every shadow, as if the young lass were to bound out towards me.
