Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Vivaldi’s forced smile became a little more genuine as she observed the boy’s actions, but her eyes remained rather unreadable. That was the way things were for her, don’t let your emotions show through and if a smile is necessary force it no matter what you really think- don’t let your mask fall for anyone. It was easier that way, especially when you were growing up in a pack that your uncle was leading god knows where. She got the feeling she wouldn’t want to linger in the pack for much longer, but would stay, for her family, even if some of it was absent at the moment.

The boy’s greeting was polite, it was a good start. His inquiry, however, was not such a good thing. She really didn’t want to explain why she said ‘we’ instead of ‘I’ but she had to, didn’t she? The wolfess gave a slight sigh before replying, trying to keep her answer as short as possible so the conversation wouldn’t dawn on it. “Force of habit, something we picked up when we were younger and it seems we haven’t grown out of. We refer, of course, to ourself.” Vivaldi said in a matter-of-fact way. Truly she had grown out of referring to herself as ‘we’, and often fluctuated between using the different terms but she only said otherwise when she was with creatures that she really trusted.

Ciel was a little younger than her, and slightly shorter, too, she noted. But despite being younger than her he still held himself with the same amount of maturity that she did, perhaps more so. When Vivaldi’s mature composure fell she was much less cold than she normally appeared to be, but that happened very rarely.

“I suppose you are right about me not being happy to be here. We aren’t used to the cold, you see.” She stated in response to his observation, before continuing to answer his question. “We came here today to get away from our uncle’s pack. We don’t care for the atmosphere and dead landscape there and- if we are perfectly honest- aren’t sure that we like our uncle, either.” A slightly saddened look glinted in her eyes before quickly fading. She hated the pack but knew she had to stay, things would be worse if she left than if she stayed there. She quickly banished the thoughts from her mind, now was not the time to be thinking over such things. “What about you?” she inquired, her voice hinting at curiosity.
