Several points:
First, there is my well-known resistance to costly, hard to maintain rescue and sanctuary programs, particularly as they relate to loose, feral, grade horses which inevitably multiply exponentially at 20% a year, and thinking them mostly pet-sentimental at the cost of actual breeders who develop and maintain the special breeds we love.
Second, add to this resistance my long-held belief that there is no American sorraia type, that the usage came about under rather strange German conditions but which did allow breeders to move away from the awful word "mustang."
Third, if you are still reading, what's my personal take on this project?
If it could promote actual straight Spanish horses and what they can do, I say, why not?
Got to admit that Adam Edwards in what he writes above has laid out a creative soup.
It could be pretty cool. I hope it flies. And doesn't break his heart.
