Re(1): User's own password to edit

If you make it so users have to register to be able to post, then they can use their password to edit any of their own posts. But some people don't like to have to register even though it only requires a name and password...so check with your users first or you might lose some people if you suddenly require registration.

If you don't want users to have to register, then go into your admin options, and choose to "enable users to edit their posts". Then a user can simply fill in a password of their choosing in the appropriate box under the message box when they are posting, and then use that password to edit their post later. If they always enter the same password when they post, then they will be able to use that same password to edit any of their posts. Of course they will have to remember to enter that password in the box every time they post a new message, or they won't be able to edit that particular message.
