Fear rose up in the pit of his stomach as he helplessly watched Azure's struggle to safety. It was horrible being an animal that could physicall only help himself and not really be able to help a drowning herd mate or a herd mate being attacked. You could always throw yourself in, but depending on the situation that might only make it worse and in this case there might be two sinking horses instead of one. Cap wished her strength and good fortune especially because Azure was his first real shot at a new family of this island.

For a moment his eyes glossed over and memories he had since repressed flashed before him. A mare lying stilless on the ground and a herd surrounding her body. The worse part was the young filly, barely weaned, crying over her mother's body. His heart skipped a beat, sweat covered his body, and his breathing quickened. Was he having a panic attack? Luckily the squeals of Azure brought him back and his attention fixed on the spot she used to be that was now empty. His eyes widened and his head tossed as his eyes searched for her. A big sigh of relief left him as he spotted her, safe and sound down below. He could tell from where he stood that she was terribly shaken.

Then he heard her call his name. As if some switch was hit, Cap shot up alert and turned around to make his way around the raised land. He ran around, and I mean ran, as fast as his body would allow to her side. Which was pretty fast considering his light body weight. He reaches her shaking form and immediatly speaks to her with a serious tone. "Don't ever do that again." He says as he reaches out his muzzle and gingerly touches her shoulder. His eyes closed and he sighs as he begins to calm down now that Azure was safe. "I'm sorry I was just...afraid." He says in a whisper and stands there still and quiet for awhile. His body looks peaceful and calm now compared to her frightened form.
