The white and blue striped wolf dipped his head politely in response to her comment on his name, “thank you, I don’t much like my name, if I’m perfectly honest.” He stated, shrugging his shoulders indifferently. He had preferred his sister’s name, Tide, the tides were so much more interesting than the barren landscape after which he was named. Tides were always changing, and he wondered if his sister was changing too in whatever land she had gone to after this one.
Ordinarily he would have grown depressed by this point, the very reminder of how his siblings and mother and father had left him would have plunged his heart into the deepest abyss. The fact that he was alone… he didn’t need reminding of it… but for now he was not alone, he had company, company that actually wanted to talk to him, and so he was a little less depressed than he would have been ordinarily. Tundra nodded his head at Melody’s words, “I understand…” he said simply, it was really all he could think to say. What else was there to say to her simple explanation?
