Well.. that was easy! One moment he was pondering the possibility of him being pulled into the black hole that was the ocean. That's clever you see because in his mind, whatever went under never came back out. Ha! If only he could understand the reference. Instead, he his mind was occupied at the slinky mare slipping in and out of the water, suddenly at his side begging him to get on with the show. Into the water he went. A gasp that caught in his throat, trying to keep his masculinity as they took the plunge. The icy hands of the night water gripped his chest, pulling him down just as his legs found their function. Cutting through the waves, he fought his way out to sea.

With Pierce by his side, he turned his head every few feet to make sure she wasn't struggling, not that he would know what to do if she were. He attempted to ask her how she was doing, but with the sound of water crashing all around them his words were lost. It took longer than usual but he would not admit that he'd taken them off course for a short time. Finally, hooves touched the shore of Atlantis, spring weather treating the tropic island nicely. Of course, his soggy patch stayed rather cool but there was the summer where the rain simply made things muggy, sprinkling just enough to make things misty in the worst way. There was always the breeze coming off the water of course, often accompanied by a chill from their arctic neighbor.

Nikola drug himself up shore, reaching out to touch his little bay 'prize' to make sure she was okay. There were sometimes rocks just in reach of the shallows and if you kicked just right it would mean a nasty cut to the foreleg. "Welcome home, Pierce," he'd offer, hoping she didn't suddenly want to return to the crossing. With her eagerness to get here he was sure she shared it in other aspects of her life as well. On the fly kind of girl, he worried ahead of time that she would one day disappear without a word.
