At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Without any hesitation the girl shuffled up to Amatus, he could feel her bony body pressed against his plump and well fed frame. With a bit more fidgeting the knight placed his regal head onto her dainty back, the breath flooded out of his nostrils, ruffling her back pelt gently. He could feel her soft breaths rising and falling, her chest moving up and down. He knew she was alive, she knew he was alive it was perfect; a safety net if you like. “Oh really? I think it is one of the most wishes in the wolf’s eyes, to soar with the eagles, dive with the birds. I know I would give a lot to soar up to the highest heights and fall down before regaining my strength and soaring down. How awesome would that be?” He muttered, his muzzle back moved upwards by now, and so his rumbling words touched the back of her audettes. “But perhaps I would like to be a star, too. Watching over creatures, shining the brightest, shining the dimmest. Bringing dainty light to those in the darkness.” He added, his thoughts tumbling out to her, why? She knew what it was like, dreams.

It was quiet, for some time actually but it wasn’t an awkward silence that deafened your audettes and made you feel angry or sad. It was a thoughtful silence, although Amatus could swear he could hear the churning thoughts of her brain, thinking. He could slightly, in his new position, make out the gentle twinkling of each star, like a diamond fixed into the deep sea of the above instead of the rocky terrain down below. If only they were in a perhaps, more securer, safer and maybe nicer den? Amatus was surprised that the girl, who had been hurt a fair bit gave up her beliefs and decided to actually tolerate the brute and now, rainbow wolf and frisky wolf were the best of friends! It was odd because in such a short time the two had clicked together, they both came from different sides of the world, and both different background. They had hardly anything in common and yet slotted together perfectly, it is like when two puzzle pieces you know don’t go together fit perfectly and then he suddenly find out it was meant to be! Amatus shifted his cranium down wards again, dozing gently in warmth.

His gentle dozing was disturbed as Yoki lifted her muzzle urgently; dragging her cranium, eyes and ears with her. Under his chin she reached upon, nuzzling into it before resting her head upon his. A smile curved his kissers gently, Amatus was about to talk (like always.) but before doing so, the female jumped in first. She didn’t want to fly? She took it back, how, why? Oh… a look of astonishment crossed his features, how could she ‘love him’ in such a short amount of time? Wasn’t he annoying, naïve and pompous? He wasn’t going to make her feel awkward, because he admitted it; he cared for her but just not in that manner. He saw her direction of lust, so casually he swerved his whole body to the exit, he wasn’t leaving – he wouldn’t and couldn’t leave his new and proper friend, the beast thought about what to say, whether he should actually even say anything. For a moment, his eyes simply rested on the ground, the thick muddy ground that seemed browner than your average dirt. “Hm,” He muttered, trying to control any unneeded language. He wasn’t angry, nor was he upset, he was truly, simply confused.

“Yoki, Yoki, Yoki, you don’t love me. You have been hurt, you never expected kindness from me; you’re simply confused is all. I don’t mean to make up your feelings but love can’t happen in a few hours…right?” Amatus replied, his face was full of confusion and an unusual tone of… sadness? The brute was hardly ever sad but now he felt like he had messed the girl around; he hadn’t but he felt lost – unsure on what to do, or how to do it. He exited the confound area and sat outside, his orbs settled upon the ground as a light breeze ruffled the soft fur of his mandible.
He swerved around and looked into the eyes of Yoki. “I’ll be back in the morning, sleep and tomorrow will seem better.” He gently told her, his head briefly touched hers before he raced off; into the night. A knight of the night.
