B O N D U R A N T
A copper ear twitched at the sound of her name as he stared at her. Ragnfridr, he tasted the name in his head. Foreign. He thought himself colorful due to his homeland, but no doubt she outmatched him there. He watched her eyes as she looked him over, observing him as less as potential threat than she had before. Well at least that was a good sign. In turn his own body posture relaxed as she continued speaking, cocking a rear hoof to redistribute his weight.
Intriguing.
She had risked her own life for someone in her family. That was something the spotted man could relate to on many levels. “Is that how you came by those scars?” His words were gruff and always seemed louder amongst the closeness of the trees. He wondered if she would even give him an answer, she did not seem one to be overly open about her past as he was not. Then again he had just met her and could easily be mistaken.
With more than a little disbelief he watched her move toward him, not entirely believing this transformation from the time-tested battle maiden he had just seen. Involuntarily his eyes closed as her velveteen nose touched his neck and he repressed a shiver. How long had it been since someone had shown him this basest form of equine affection? It would have been his brother before it all went to hell in a hand basket. He managed to control himself, stretching out his neck toward the appealing curve of her hip. Briefly he nuzzled the dip in her body, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly, before mimicking her actions in methodically grooming her side.
