The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

Was that a puppy? An innocent puppy? The arrival of a new varg had-really- been the arrival of two. One alive, one dead. The alive munching on the dead. How morbid. Gollum was, obviously, not a fan of cannibalism. He often saw displays of such atrocities and wondered every time: how could a wolf stomach the thought of eating the shell of someone who had once looked, thought and loved alike? It seemed that by consuming their hearts and brains that they were absorbing small bits of that former being into themselves, transforming their identity. It did not seem fair that there was not one place a corpse could be safe, not even within their own kin could the threat of mutilation not be a nagging worry in the last moments of their lives. As their life force slipped away, they could not assume that what was left of their memory would be kept intact until the unrushed whims of nature took what they desired.

Gollum was dimly aware of the entrance of another woman then of the lass known as Shiva speaking. Though his eyes remained fixated on the meal progressing before him, he had a vague understanding of the happenings around him. The wolf whose name, unbeknownst to him, was Blood King had spoken, bit down viciously into the foreleg of his prey then finished the heart.

The malicious voice of his new found master broke him out of his reverie. Naraku addressed many of the wolves in the cavern, responding to what they had previously said. His monologue began, feeding Gollum’s ever present dislike of violence. “The wolves of Blossom Forest have been carefree for too long.” The dark king stated. What was wrong with carefree? Ignorance is bliss, Gollum guessed his master was not a fan of the saying. “The weak do not know fear and the strong do not acknowledge their power.” Too much power lead to corruption. The weak were perhaps the intelligent that did not accept power or strength, contempt to live a simple life of conformity. Then again, who likes conformity? “It’s time for us to make things change, no?” Goodbye conformity. “I’ve gathered you here today to assist me in my plans to strike some righteous fear into the hearts of the innocent and foolish” IGNORANCE IS BLISS!! If Gollum was human, tears would have been running down his facial and soaking to red hued ground at his feet. “I cannot promise that we’ll all survive this game, but I can promise that those strong enough to pull through will receive whatever they desire from the lands of Blossom.” Didn’t that just sound peachy? If they survived, they could wreak more havoc upon the beautiful land and habitants of Blossom Forest.

His master was watching those assembled with, what seemed to Gollum, the same eye his mother had watched him as she waited for him to confess to a lie. Naraku was looking for the one who would break first. The one who would see the insanity in this plot and make a daring escape. The next words that exited the dictator’s mouth spoke of the degree of the success if anyone was to try such an escape. “If you will fight with me, stand forward and proclaim it. If not, feel free to become our first victim” Okaaaaaaay then. Nice little dictator.

The cannibal Gollum had been watching was the first to confirm his allegiance. He asked who the first victim would be. Seriously?! There’s one for the loony list.

His honor-bound allegiance to Naraku had already been stated with the dark prince in private. Therefore, Gollum saw no reason to step forward now. He owed none of these wolves anything, except Naraku to which he owed everything. The pained bronco knew that despite how much it hurt him or those around him, he would follow orders no matter the cost. There was no other option.
