The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

My ears flick back to my skull when the screechy howl like sound reaches them, echoing through Abendrot. What the hell was that? Shaking out my fur as if that will make the sound disappear from my mind forever, I push forward into a brisk trot toward the borders. They've been busy as of late, full of new suprises and more of the same old riff raff that always seems to want an audience with Kershov. Well, this one might be disappointed since I happen to know that he's at least with three other wolves at the moment, trying to decide who's worth his time and whose not.

I think he's about made up his mind about Wolverine though. The rude male with a chip on his shoulder gets under my skin but it's that fact that has me more curious about him than ever. No one seems to get under my skin, no one, that is, but Marx and he's decidely not around much recently. I caught his scent a few days ago, still playing games with his kidnappees, it seems. As it were, I wonder where Ellesmera's been hiding. Maybe I should call for her or go find her. Oh well, I'll do it later. First, I have border patrol to attend to. She won't go far. I have a feeling she's curious about Abendrot. I really do need to set up a meeting between Kershov and her though, let him see that his Beta did not come back empty handed.

Finally I get a glimpse of the wolf waiting patiently at the borders. He looks excited, hope wild like fire in his eyes. Tilting my own head, I let my bright green and blue eyes lock on the wolf, seeing the twisted nature behind those naive eyes. Oh boy, you're going to have to try harder than this. You need to impress me. My tail flicks to the side playfully almost as I stop before the wolf and offer an amused smirk. My eyes gleam. Mind getting on your back and looking at me from a different angle, hm? I tend to get uncomfortable when a rogue looks me in the eye. Gives me that uncontrollable urge to rip someone's throat out.
