Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

Gamma of Bright Moon

I won't lie, his obvious confusion was rather amusing to me. The smirk that ghosted upon my kissers was evidence of that. I kept it at no more that a hinting of a smirk though, as he had plainly ignored my remark and the apology that followed. He must have come from a weird place if he was confused by my actions. Oh well, oh well because we had all kinds here at Bright Moon. The broken, the unique, the awkward, the asses, the abandoned. All kinds but still we made it work. Too bad this one wasn't a bit less of a thinker. It wasn't as if I was lying to him or anything like that.

After my reply had sunk in, Warrior looked even more confused. It was hard for me to explain this to him. What seemed to puzzle him most was the part about this being home and being safe. Perhaps he had had a not so safe home and didn't trust my word? What I'm trying to say is that you can call this place home. But it will also be safe for you... So long as Abendrot keeps their distance, that is. My attempt at amending what I said into something more understandable wasn't very good. Still, I gave an effort. Since the rest of what I had said seemed to confuse him as well, I decided to clarify the rest too. And about how you speak, formal tongue is not bad it's just that you don't need to talk like that. You can be informal and no one would so much as bat an eyelash at it. So don't fear informality in your speaking is all and keep speaking formally if that's what you want. I gave a small chuckle after my words left my lips. I hoped that had cleared some stuff up rather than just confuse the boy more.

I saw his muscles, which had been tense as a bow string, loosen before he crossed the boarder. It looked sort of forced but it was none of my business so I didn't question it. I just let my lanterns follow him lazily as he officially stepped into Bright Moon pack.

When he stopped and looked at me, question in his eyes, I gave a short laugh. Sorry. I'm just happy, is all. I stopped smiling before since it seemed to put you on edge. My sandy shoulders were brought up and down in a short shrug. I saw the fear in his eyes, mostly hidden by the questioning. My own gazers widened and I was about to assure him that he had nothing to fear when he brightened again. Luckily a tour was something he was happy about.

I relaxed again and watched with pleasure as he started to nod at my question. I started to step forward when he corrected himself. His vocals came haltingly and nervous and I was patient. I, who was now deeper into the pack than Warrior, turned back to face the young lad as his words came to a close. Well of course I will ! And by the way, just Venga is fine. I turned my fluffy self around and began to walk the boarder. I flicked my tail, a gesture for Warrior to follow me. My gait was lazy and easy, I was in no hurry and I suspected that the ebony adolescent wasn't either.

We walked through the tall grass that stretched across this part of the lands. Be mindful of your step for rocks and holes hide in the grass's cover. This is the prairie portion of the pack. On warm days, when you have nothing to do, it's nice to find a large rock and just sleep in the sun. You can usually find field mice scampering around here if you want a quick snack. It felt weird having to tell someone about the land I knew about without thinking about it. That thought hadn't made much sense... It didn't matter though so I just kept meandering along, letting the grasses tickle my pelt.

Eventually the grass began to thin out and shorten. Soon the trees dotted the landscape and then grew thicker and thicker. This was my favorite part of the entire pack. I led us deeper and deeper without providing words to Warrior. The brush became thick and I pushed through it, brambles and twigs sticking in my fur. Once I broke through the greenery, a clearing stretched out before me and him. This is the forest part of the pack. It's my absolute favorite part of the entire Blossom Forest, hands down. I don't know why but I just love it here. There are trees of all kinds strew about. Squirrels and rabbits inhabit here along with us. This specific clearing, as you might have guessed on account of the strong wolf smell, is where we hold our pack meetings. I sat down and stayed there for a while, admiring the smells the breeze blew my way.

Finally I got back to my paws and stretched. Something in my back popped and I sighed with contentment. My flaxen stilts set into their rhythm again as I began to pick my way out of the trees. I looked back often to make sure Warrior had not fallen behind or gotten lost or something. After what seemed like a long time, we exited the thick trees. My smile had fallen from my face, tugged away by the knowledge of what we would see. My eyes fell, not for the first time nor the last, upon the dark ground. The scars of a fire, one long before my time in the pack, marred the earth and trees here. As I stepped into the barren area, my paws turned black from ash. There was a fire here, as you can probably tell. It was before I came to Bright Moon. Before even Satowra's rule here, I think. It's such an unfortunate scar on such a beautiful land. In my opinion it kind of represents some of the wolves who come to Bright Moon. Scarred and alone, ugly and unwanted, marred and sad. They all find a home here, though. I know I did. My voice had dropped down to a whisper and grown even quieter with my last four words. I remember how there had been no light in my eyes before I had come here. Looking at me now, you might never know it. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found Bright Moon. I sighed and turned to look at the boy, watching his reaction.

vengafeather, a remake, as best as i could do, of the wonderful picture that Minnie had made me. since Venga's a Gamma now, i figured it would be a good time to fix her photo so it matches her slogan.(:
