At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The rattling noise from the bush was made by a demon of a wolf. His paws beat against the ground as he turned and stalked around, his orange eyes watching the white fluff ball of a pup as his little, feminine voice echoed into the air around them. Another rattle of a bush, this time to the pups right. A chuckle rising into the air. A chuckle that carried it a sound of insanity. The demon kept moving, passing into the staircase of crystalline liquid and going to the other side, almost silently. The brush tickled his side as he circled back, stopping behind the little white pup. His earthen colored skull was lowered, as was his equally brown body, it crouched to the ground. Looking at the terrain under him, he smirked once he saw a small rock and picked it up in his maw carefully, and, jerking his head upwards, he threw it into the air. It arched into the sky like a rainbow, splashing into the water to the left of the pup. Couldn’t play with the pup’s senses, right? He wasn’t old enough to exactly pinpoint where he was.

The demon waited for a bit, tail twitching. Then, another chuckle escaped past brown lips as he stood up, stalking out of the brush he was camping in like a waiting cat. The water flowed over his paws and split around his pillars, gracing his stomach as he walked towards the little pup. He spoke, his words dripping in his insanity of his mind. “Well. Well. How cute. A small little pup like you ordering me around.” Another chuckle echoing into the air, orange eyes locked onto his new prey. “That reminds me. What’s a small little baby like you doing around here…alone. You could easily become prey to someone.” The demon lunged and snapped his jaws close right near the pup’s side, a loud clack as the upper and lower jaw collided. The demon smirked at the little pup, starting to circle around his body, his body dangerously close to his. He wondered what he would do with this little boy. He had already hunted before, bringing down another wolf and eating it afterward. His maw and fangs were still stained with the red liquid of his kin.

He wondered if that would scare the pup. The scent of dead wolf was carried in his fur. The scent of their blood and appendages stained his pelt for life. But he didn’t care. He took joy in killing other wolves. It entertained him to no end. To hear their screams and cries and begging for him to spare their life. Oh, it just sent a shiver down his spine. As the melody of cries and screams played in the back of his mind, a look of complete pleasure and joy came into his eyes, along with the insanity he carried. Now. To figure out what to do with this pup. Ah!! A thought entered his mind and his smirk turned into a full blown mischievous smile. Maybe he could take him to Naraku. The leader of their little group would love to have a little baby to torture in his mitts. Once he had decided what to do with the boy, he spoke again, still circling the water flowing and cleaning his pillars of the dried blood. “Now. Why don’t I help you with your little problem, kid? I can bring you with me to my…pack.” He said pack loosely, since obviously, the Naraku wolves were just a group of wolves wandering and wreaking havoc. “I’m sure my leader will be entertained to have you there. What do you say?” As he spoke, his circling never ended, like the cycle of life.
