The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Laughter. There was so much laughter… it rang in her ears and resonated within that beautiful little scarlet chest of hers. It made her happy, suspending her above the sorrow that filled her little soul before. She heard her name, no not her name it was a word she had not heard in so very, very long; mother, it was so soft. Sounding in her ears like a hazy dream. It was so breathtakingly beautiful; so much so it was actually painful for her minds eye to comprehend. Colors were brighter and sounds were like soothing honey on a sore throat. To her astonishment three playful little balls of joy came bounding up to her, prancing around her like tiny fawns. Her heart broke at that little priceless vision? Was it a vision… it seemed so real… before she knew it the brightly dyed fur around her eyes were soaking with tears and she was crying out her babies names before she wrestled them to the ground nuzzling them with every bit of happiness she had left. “Where have you been mother? We missed you!” Her heart sang at hearing her lost… lost? That’s what they were weren’t they? Lost.

The picture began to change - morph into something more sinister. The beautifully bright colors altered into dark… bleak… their faces… their beautiful faces began to lapse into that lifeless state again. All of their sunken eyes barreled into her body beating into her with a relentless kind of hatred. Their voices became distorted and accusing; why didn’t you save us? Why didn’t you, why did you just lay there, why, why, why. IM SORRY DAMNIT! She screamed, I didn’t mean for you to die… her voice became twisted with pain as she strained to keep from screaming her already exhausted lungs out. Why can’t you just see I didn’t want for you to die? As soon as the last word dropped from her ebon lips the scene began to fade away and she watched mortified as her blessed children disappeared again... right beneath her nose; back into the labyrinth she called memory… always so close, always so far…

Pain hit her like a freight train. Her whole body ached with a kind of fatigue she had only felt once in her life; when it had shattered. That mind of hers was bending so far it was dangerously close to breaking, if she wasn’t careful no one would want her anymore… She was spiraling out of control into havoc… into ruin. Color clouded her vision distorting the picture as she forced her two toned eyes open. She managed to catch a glimpse of a joyfully familiar face before the matching voice rang in her ears destroying that glimmer of hope she had been holding on to… another voice caught her attention one that sent red hot rage coursing through her veins. Appalling. “Taylor?” The crimson stained lass managed to choke out. She heard the little colorless girls words and she managed to cringe at the thought she was still on the ground. Just as pathetic as she had been before. “Listen Taylor… leave.” The last little part came out as a forced sort of snarl, she didn’t mean it of course it was just the lady couldn’t bear another bereavement on her conscious. Bereavement? She barely knew the little bird… oh how pain corrupts your mind. She tried to get herself back onto weary paws but they merely collapsed again and she fell back face first into the dirt. “LEAVE!” She screamed at the girl; there was no since in her wasting her new expectant life on someone like her… She had nothing left… except of course for her king - the king that would probably exile her for this pathetic little demonstration.

She heaved herself once more onto white, shaky pillars as she tried to steady herself. She wasn’t built for this kind of exertion, she needed sleep… she needed to think. Her lips pulled back revealing a set of hazardous ivory daggers, all pearlescent gleaming like her lengthy stockings in the moonlight. She was still slightly trembling but she was trying… “Why is it every time I see…” she swayed very close to tripping over her own rather diminutive body weight. “Your tormenting defenseless pups less… than half your size?” Her sentences were choppy and her words slurred but they came out all the same. The girl. She felt a smile flicker on that defeated looking face of hers… That little girl could have left along time ago but she had stayed. Stayed in this place she despised so. The robin had known that she wasn’t so different from herself, she could learn to love it here… she could learn to admire the white King… “I see your blessed logic is as fucked up as ever…” she said more at herself that to him - not that anyone would tell of course.
