At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The forest softly flowed past, downy moss and trees adorned with vines only momentary visitors in the brute’s life. Each footfall was slow and deliberate, as if thought was put into each and every movement, care taken for each muscle. Sure, it was slow going, but sometimes you just had to walk around as to not miss this life pass you by. Jax had found the best mysteries of the forest revealed when doing this such thing. The birth of wild turkey chicks as they pecked from their large eggs, mother hovering protectively around the ground nest. The finally blooming bud of a rare forest orchid, only visible for a few hours before the beautiful sight wilted and fell to the sodden earth. All wonder and simple pleasures, a secret world that the timber wolf had discovered and would be happy to share with any soul who was willing. But then, of course, he really hadn’t come across many of those either. He’d inhabited Blossom for quite a few moons now, and looking back on his experience in these lands he only found lonesome nights and wistful mornings spent in his own company. Of course this, too, wasn’t hard to image; afterall, he wasn’t the most orthodox hessian roaming the woods. Pink and ancient, a scar sat over his right eye socket. There was nothing left inside its barrier. And so, it was only logical to stay away from the disfigured gentleman who seemed too calm and content with his lonesome world.

His destination was a place he had visited many times before; a place of healing water and uplifted spirits. Staircase Falls it was called, and aptly so, at some points along the river the clear liquid would carefully hope down ledge to ledge, leaving white froth in its wake. And although these stepping rapid were considered dangerous by some, Jax simply found them fascinating. He would lay down by one and lazily stare into its depths until the sun set and he could see darkness in both his gazers. Then he would slowly pick himself up and shelter under the welcoming branches of some pine or spruce, content to sleep below the distant celestial stars and not in some suffocating cave. But today would be slightly different. He did not come to simply waste his good orb on the miracles of nature, but use it to seek out a friend of some sort. Suns and suns without a companion… even for the gentle giant, this was starting to become an unbearable pressure within his chest. Was he that unwanted? Or merely banished because of his disability? But the mottled gentleman wouldn’t let such negative thoughts cloud his mind and he continued steadily through the pines and aspens, reaching his destination when Fenris’ eye was round and full in the sky.

For the majority of the day he wandered along the banks, making contact with a few wandering canines but never managing to keep what he caught. And now, with the burning sky starting to slip behind the jagged horizon, he was starting to give up hope. Not giving up, mind you, simply wondering if it truly was his missing component that drove all others away. Jax came upon a waterfall and hopped halfway up the hill it was situation on before laying down to be kissed by its mist. He’d just have to try again tomorrow. Surely there have to be some unaffected by his less than normal looks. Glancing up, the boy felt slanting rays of sun hit his tired visage, a weak warmth he welcomed. At least the celestial bodies were not yet corrupt enough to ignore him as well. Lowering his cranium as the sunset bloomed behind him, cold melancholy could be seen in his deep amber pool.

[OOC: Oh gosh it suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. TT-TT Sorry, I’ve never played him before.]
