This is a safe area for young to come and play whilst their parents get some sleep! Also, abandoned pups may find their way in here seeking parents and help.

Aysu had errands to run, or so she'd told him when she'd dropped him off at the small clearing to play. It was a relatively safe place, she had heard, and so had few qualms with leaving the only child who seemed content to stay by her side there. Besides, the poor boy needed to toughen up some; perhaps an unsavory encounter or two would lend Kadri some backbone, and perhaps having to use the single blessing bestowed on him for being pack-born would make him more brave.
Kadri was not brave. He didn't like being away from his mother, ever; venturing too far from the den was a huge act of courage for him, even at his nearly-teen age. His sister and brother were not nearly so cowardly, a matter they constantly liked to remind him of - Ceyhan especially. His loud-mouthed sister was always nagging him to come exploring with her and Rueben, to leave their mother's side and the care of the rigel, Laius, who took care of them and go spiriting away into the wide world. What was worse was her intentions, which were so obviously good-natured and well-meaning. It made him sick, in a strange, jealous way. What right did his sister, a girl, have to be so carefree and jovial, so vivacious and curious, while he had to hang back and be such an insufferable coward?
Their father didn't even know his name. Their father knew Rueben's name, thought the pup with a bitter taste in his mouth, grumbling a low, unsteady, puppish growl angrily deep in his throat. Why couldn't he be something of value to his parents? Their mother loved him, sure, if she occasionally did grow a little tired of his constant presence who could blame her - but it was clear he was not bold enough to be a warrior, like Ceyhan, or clever enough to lead, like Rueben. With an angry snort the pup kicked a pebble away from him, sending the small rock skipping and scuttling away from him. Jealousy was an ugly thing, especially on a pup so young, but at the moment Kadri's heart burned with it. Replies:
