Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The old brute wagged his tail a bit in reply, still slightly freaking about not remembering her name. She'd known Black Rain, which put her somewhere fairly high, he supposed - or perhaps it didn't? The big black alpha male had seemed the type to commit everyone's name to memory, a trait that Perun rather envied, especially right now. Still, their familiarity had almost extended beyond the cordial but curt relationship of pack member and alpha... Who knew. Perun was honestly still trying to adjust to it all, it was a far more lax living situation than what he'd been used to, both in his home territory off the mountain and in the tightly-run ranking that was Rue's alphaship in Wind Gale. The large, shaggy old wolf was still trying to figure out which he liked better.

"Been well," he answered, not gruff but not exactly breezy; his voice was like old thunder, deep and resonant, but his tone was slightly more at ease than it had been when he and Ouka had met at the border. It was true, too; he'd been feeling well enough before scaling this peak, at least, though the high altitudes were about on-level with the rest of Ice's terrain, so he didn't much mind the slopes. He was a mountain wolf, anyway, born and bred; he'd just had to get used to it all again. His breath had returned, and even his old joints felt a bit rejuvenated at the climb. He just hoped the little reptile who had accompanied him would have the thick blood for the high peak... Slightly concerned, he turned his dull gold gaze out, searching for the little dragonet in his care. She was a fleeting pink-red flash, but she was there, and he smiled faintly.

Ouka's sudden worry had him raising a brow, turning his head back to her and blinking a bit. "I am, yes," Perun said, a little unsure of the motives behind the question; while the concern in her voice indicated she really cared about him, the question itself - considering his history with Wind Gale - had him curious. He didn't mind, though, and continued in his answer, more truthful and less wary than he'd been initially. "It's a different climate, that's for sure, but I'm more built for mountains than plains... and there's certainly more going on, there," he said, chuckling a bit. The frigid pack lands were much less lonely than Wind Gale's long open meadows, that was for sure.
