I have ran several DM-4 pumps over the years with the leaf springs removed....don't let anyone else tell you different. My pumps tested at 320 cc's. I always locked out the advance mechanism to full retard and then set the pump timing at 36 degrees (on a 426 engine). There isn't a "450" head for a DM-4 pump. It would be easier to install an M-100 AmBAch pump than an in-line Bosch. An in-line Simms pump would also be a bolt-on. A Bosch "P" pump is a challenge on a 301. Replies:
