You've Stolen My Heart

Mare - Lusitano - Palomino - 15.3hh - 5

She had put her trust in him the day they first met. He's proven to her he would never break her trust. Nikola valued her safety just like all the mares. It warmed her heart to know that somehow she had found a permanent home that was so loving. She leaned into him almost, his cooing voice calming her nerves. She could almost feel like a small little filly again, but now was not the time to be like that. Shaking her head, she followed his calm voice, her steps unsure at first but she pressed on. He was simply her rock, and she needed to be strong instead of looking all weak like before. She simply drew his strength from him to her. It helped to get her through the thundering storm.

When the lightening came, her eyes almost rolled to the back of her head in fright, but her nose and ear's let her know Nik was still here with her, so she instantly calmed and followed along behind him with her nose almost touching his rear. Trees soon blocked out the flashing skies, and now she barely felt a raindrop. Sure the wind would sometimes carry the rain to them, and give them a quick bath, but there was plenty of time in between where they stayed partly dry. She gave a delicate sniff, and glanced to Nik, before continuing to follow him more into canopy covering trees.

Finally she was safe, despite the fact she still shivered from the cold. Flickering her ears forward, she drew herself up alongside the grullo stallion, and let her body relax into his a little. She wasn't completely pressed up into him, since she wasn't sure how he'd react to her closeness. "I'm fine now," she promises, turning her face to him, and letting her muzzle briefly touch his. "I'm glad your here."

Another sound of booming thunder had her jumping into his side, this time she was really pressed up against him. Her eyes were wide and she lowered her head. Her maw opened and closed like she used to do as a small filly whenever she was afraid. The clacking of the teeth would sometimes calm her, but this was the worst storm she's ever been in.
