B O N D U R A N T
The feel of her whiskered nose running along his neck was comforting. It was rare that Bondurant engaged in any physical contact that was not for.. a specific purpose and so this was welcome surprise. She pulled away and he thought on her words for a moment. Her case was sound enough, but did the man who had challenged him have any less conviction than he? Would the next man who came calling? No. No man would have more to fight for than he, not when it came to his family.
He gave her a tired smile however, glad that she had such faith in him. It made fighting for what he loved that much more worth it. “Ah have a lot to fight for," he said finally, the words slowly drawling out of mouth. He turned his eyes back to her, watching the moonlight dance in patches across her face as it fell through the canopy. There was always a lurching in his heart when he stood so close to one of his family members, a constant reminder of how much they meant to him not just as a collection or something to fill his home, but that each and every one of them was invaluable to him. He needed them as they might need him.
Clearing his throat he shuffled towards her until he could feel the heat that eminated from her form. Fall was already encroaching upon the land and there was a bite in the air tonight which would only grow in the coming weeks. “What do your stars say tonight?" He knew that reading her stars was of the utmost improtance to the blanketed woman and though he did not truly understand it, it made his heart happy to hear her speak of something so meaningful.
