the battlemaiden

Her ears swivel back with annoyance as Mightyena burst into the scene.

Luckily, it wasn't an aggressive gesture, as Ragnfridr made no attempt to lash at the spirited mare who seemed to know Umbreon well. A hot breath snorts from her battered velvet nose as she paws at the ground to release some of the steam that had built up and wasn't allowed to release.

But they were not alone.

Normally, she would have fended Bondurant off with a shove or a scream or even a kick -- but today she was focused on the uncertainty of the moment. When Bondurant did not aggressively regard Umbreon (as she formerly had) but instead seemed interested in hearing what her black stepfather had to say, Ragnfridr's curiosity perked. For the moment, Ragnfridr remained quiet, listening and waiting.

The battlemaiden didn't seem to respond -- good or bad -- when she heard that Mako was still alive, an still at Umbreon's side. She wasn't even surprised. Her mother was a stubborn little thing, after all. And Ragnfridr learned her behavior from somewhere, right?
