Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Perhaps it was only a matter of time before she slipped away from the pack meeting. Oh, she would show up again when she was needed, but at the present time Queens seemed a bit absent and there was nothing more dangerous than an idle wolf. So the little huntress had decided to take a field trip to the mighty snowcapped mountain that sat near the pack. It was good to stretch out her legs, to feel her limbs flying beneath her lithe frame, every tendon strained to its breaking point. This was the purest pleasure of a hunter; power and control. Crimson fur rustled with every landing, taut skin rippling as the muscles absorbed the shock of the blow. It was only when cool air started to penetrate her thick pelt did Samus Aran slow down to a mere trot, sizing up the mountain that lay before. Piece of cake. A content grin emerged.

Moving silently, as was the bounty hunter way, Samus began looking at the mount’s face, searching for some crevice of overhang to lounge about. She didn’t want to prove herself by making it all the way to the top, like most foolish pups. No, a quiet view from the edge of a small precipice was just fine for her. Spotting movement on the right, the demoness snapped her cranium around and opened her jaws. The very next stride brought the sensation of fur sticking to her tongue and her ivories automatically clamped, feeling sinew and bone crunch into a slurry. The rabbit was dead before it even left the ground, its large hind pads dragging limply along the fallen needles before they were swept up and in front of the valkyrie. Ah, quick bite to eat. Continuing without a single misstep, Samus soon found herself at the base of the pillar. Sliding to a jerking stop, the rouge lady let a few puffs of air escape her nostrils before hopping to the first boulder of many.

She scrambled this way for quite some time, trying to survive the shifting rocks while balancing the dead weight within her maw. Nothing new, of course, but there was also a dance with Wolfbane in these sorts of stunts. A single slip was all that halted her progress, the mistress actually rolling onto her ribs for a short second before regaining her pillars and forging forth. Maybe a few scratches resided upon her pelt from the incident; such silly things would not concern her. With another mighty leap, the Omega closed in on her destination, a slight jut of stone that seemed to hang daringly over the terra below. Why, it might even give when she set foot on it, as you could never be quite sure how securely these rocks were anchored. Cautiously she approached it, leaning upon it first with one of her shoulders. She was no scared bitch; there was simply no reason to throw her life away like this, in some idiotic mistake. She would be careful for the mere fact that she intended to go down fighting for every breath, not falling off a mountain.

When she was satisfied with the placement of the perch she hopped on up, banner swishing approvingly at the spot. The view was near perfect, with the shadowed pack in the distance and a protected view of the action below. Curling up near the edge, the she-beast tore into her snack, cleaning each bone to ivory perfection and then nonchalantly dropping it over. There was some satisfaction in seeing the tiny things shatter on the points below. And there was nothing wrong with scaring any passing souls, either. A good while passed in peace, just the sound of shredding meat and happy stomach. Soon only the thigh bones remained, as she had saved them for last to suck the juicy marrow out. Wrapping both scarlet paws around the base, she shoved the ball joint deep into the corner of her teeth, gnawing at the thick cap. As she was absently chewing she allowed her mind to wander. To her job before she came to this place. To the pack she joined and dedicated herself. And even to the mother that nurtured her with her own blood and milk. The tale was not one she remembered often, but not for any particular reason; there was just no need in everyday life for such a memory.

Suddenly her teeth jarred together, no bone bridging the space in between. In slight shock she looked down at her toy, finding the top missing and the marrow dripping thick on her chin. Damn it. She quickly licked it up, discarding the spent bone to trade for the other, identical joint. She’s have to pay attention and actually enjoy the marrow out of this one. She had saved them for last afterall, and it would be a shame to waste such a prize. Setting to her work, Samus stayed nestled on her ridge, the cold mountain air coming to brush against her side in a huge sigh.
