PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

As she approached the mare, she had first assumed that she was one of the Vulcans. After all, that would be the proper assumption – come across a mare in mare territory, assume she belonged there. Then the mare stumbled and nearly fell; Pulse’s eyes widened and she gasped. It seemed, after her brush with catastrophe, that the other horse wouldn’t continue her approach. Pulse smiled, and covered the rest of the distance herself, very careful to watch her own footing.

The other mare got situated on a less precarious position, and Pulse came to stand nearby. This was good enough to get her mind off Tarrant, off the Inlet, off her past – she had to wonder what the horses here would think of her if they knew. No, now was not the time to dwell on things she wouldn’t have control over. Once she shared her past (sometime in the far distant future, she was sure), she would have to deal with it again – the looks of pity, the words of encouragement, and she wasn’t ready.

She sighed. It wouldn’t do to think of such things while here. This was to clear her head and clarify her decision. Pulse forced a smile on her lips, one that hopefully would morph into a true one as she conversed with the strange mare. “You okay?” she inquired. A stumble like that would have shaken Pulse up. She shifted her weight, careful not to lose her own footing on the snow-covered terrain. “I’m Pulse, by the way.
