The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

The female gets to her feet, her mouth already moving before her paws even hit the ground. She asks about meeting Kershov and rival packs. I chuckle under my breath, a rough sound like my throat's not used to making the sound. Eager, aren't we? Kershov finds you, not the other way around. He's got plenty of other things to do in the pack besides greeting new recruits. As far as rival packs, Bright Moon is our biggest one. They disagree with us right now because we kidnapped one of their wolves. We're watching them for a surprise attack but other than that, keep an eye on any of the other packs. As far as I know, Kershov has no allies here. My eyes gleam, warning her to heed my words because if a Bright Moon spy gets in on her watch, it'll be her neck in the noose, so to speak.

Suddenly another wolf appears at Mist's flanks, as if she'd been following the other wolf. My ears lace back to my skull and my hackles immediately rise in warning as the wolf completely ignores my presence and starts asking Mist if she will get to spy with her. I hiss through my fangs in anger as my eyes narrow and bore into this new wolf. You have no manners that I've seen yet. Who accepted you into the pack? If you don't have an answer, then fall to your back and state your name like you at least know how to take commands. You can't very well do anything in an army if you don't know discipline. My eyes spark daringly. I ignore her remark about wanting to be an assassin. Abendrot already has an assassin. As far as I know, Kershov's not looking for more. He needs spies and warriors in the ranks. I you prove yourself to Mamba, maybe she'll take on an apprentice. I have to keep myself from laughing. Mamba doesn't seem the type to take on anyone but her next victim but who knows.
