As his words hit her ears. Rue looked shocked. She looked at her paws. Not sure what to say. But she did know one thing.

"Saying sorry doesn't make the damn monsters that will overpower me soon doesn't make them disappear does it?!" she snapped at him. She looked at her paws, realizing she'd snapped at him she looked up at him. "I'm sorry Falk. Its just..... my best friend shes like a sister to me she almost died. After she almost died she disappeared..... I'm just not used to anyone getting close to me but my best friend. I grew up with her we joined Abendrot together, we lived through the toughest moments together. I left and then when I came back we were both teens almost adults now shes gone and I don't know where she is or how to find her. I just got her back and now I lost her. We both said we wouldn't leave each other without the other. Well.... shes gone and I didn't follow like I said I would." she explained. She got to her paws and moved closer to him. Burying her face in his fur.

"I'm just afraid if I let anyone else in.... they'll leave me.... and hurt me again." she whispered. She nuzzled him.
