Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The golden black and white teen had been alone for several weeks now. Her father was a cruel male, often neglecting and ignoring her. Her brother had been kind but her father had left with him and told Neri to get lost or he would make her. The fem never knew the rest of her family her mother's name was Nighthawk, if she remembered correctly, and her siblings, Reed had never even mentioned before. Really it was only once when they had run into that one female with her pups that Neri knew there were such things as mothers. It was a long process of yelling at one another but once Kunsel had jumped in Reed had explained to them who and what a mother was. It was strange at the time, Neri knew though that someday she wanted to be one. The idea of raising pups sounded amazing to the fem, and though she was still a bit naive to the ways of how mates and parenting worked she still wanted pups.

Neri moved clumsily up the mountain, she was slender, and it was lucky her brother had been rather slow to gain the hunting skill or else she wouldn't have learned so much about it. The fem had actually gained weight since her abandonment. Reed and Kunsel always ate first, and left her always with a rather meager amount of food left, even if she helped kill it, but still her malnutrition as a pup left her smaller than most females her age. It didn't matter usually, but this snow being up to her chest was making things rather difficult.

She was lost actually, she just knew that at some point if she kept going up she would have to go back down, looking up at the mountain Neri spotted something up on the rocks higher up. To her terror whatever it was slipped and started plummeting down towards her! Her eyes widened as the male landed on a ledge a ways up from her and with a flurry of snow beating up behind her Neri ran up to where the other canine had landed.

She heard his muttered 'ow' and poked her black, white and tan head over the rock and staring at him. Since being left alone she hadn't run into any others, she was curious and shy and blinked quite innocently at the similar aged male, hoping that he wouldn't notice he had a little spy gazing at him.
