Coming Down from the Sky Above
Feeling like just yesterday was the day she was born, her twin bucking and frolicking beside her, and those were the days she had missed the most. When her mind was blank and carefree, when there was no worries placed upon her shoulder, when her innocence was still intact and all she had to think about was having fun. Nothing loomed ahead except the light of the new day. In the blink of an eye, though, all of that had crashed. The land around her seemed to crumble right from under her hooves, and she was separated from not only her family, but her beloved twin. Where the mare was now, Aph had not a clue, but it pained her to think about it. It was a strange feeling, this loneliness, this aching from the dismissed presence of another. Never did she think she would feel this, but deep down, she wasn't too surprised seeing it was from her twin. She meant more to her than anyone probably ever would and so that portion of her heart would forever remain empty and departed.
That is how she had found herself upon these strange, foreign lands. Departed, alone, and scorched from the burning of needing not the company of others, but the need to rule, she decided that she would eventually have to wander out and find others. Aph didn't think it would have taken so long to come across an inhabited land, but then again, this world was large and there was much she had yet to discover, if at all. Then again, she did find herself here upon unusual circumstances. The last she remembered was strolling the edges of another place, a storm barreling through the skies and dragging out large waves with it. She should of been more cautious, but her pride had gotten the best of her, feeling untouchable. How wrong she was. Soon enough, the storm had eaten her whole, dragging her down. Unknown to her, she had hit a rock and lost consciousnesses, all memory from then until present black and blank. Only a day or so ago had she awaken, cold, wet, tired and in pain upon these shores. Unable to give up and lay around like a helpless child, Aph had risen and walked on, dismissing the gash upon her forehead and the scrapes that dusted her body. The mountains were a feat to climb, but here she was now. With ears pricked, eyes steady, nostrils flared and senses on the edge of their seat to catch anything and everything that happened around her, the mare had entered this land with new found caution and bravery.
So far, there wasn't much to be wary about except the mingling scents of other equines being caught here and there from the constant blowing winds that curled around these mountains that she had stumbled upon. Deciding that if there were any thorny creatures here, they would have done something already, so she lowered her guard ever so slightly. The weather was fairly nice, a nice cool coat that layered her blue roan pelt and kept it guarded from the sun that hung ever so close to her. Unlike most, she carried a strange plumage behind her, an ironic white flag that that such a warrior carried, but would never once use.
Standing at such a height, of seventeen point two hands, her strong limbs had easily covered large amounts of ground in only a few strides, power and pride surrounding her presence. And it wasn’t her massive height that gave her this distinction, though it certainly did help. No, it was the way she walked, head up, gleaming eyes cascaded downwards and around, tail pricked ever so slightly, limbs moving with strong fluid motions, and a smug hammock of a smirk pressed upon her firmly curved features.
What this land and its members held, she had not a clue, but so far so good. No hostile natives had jumped and ambushed her, and that was always a good sign, not like she couldn’t handle them of course. Nodding in approval, Aph deciphered this land would be a good one for her, to find a high position and fulfill that desire to rule and command. But this desire wasn't one to enslave, to harm and beat down those below her. It was the urge to rise to leadership, to make great things of not only her people, but what they stood for, to build them up to the best they can be and make sure that they were a force to reckon with. It was in her blood. Her father was a ruler of a land, and her mother carried a sturdy rank as well, and if her home hadn’t been erased from existence, she might as well of carried on the legacy of queen. The mare wouldn’t let that stop her though, no, she would make her mark on these lands, and her name will be feared, loved, respected and looked upon with high remarks. It might take time, but she had nothing but the invisible substance and there was plenty of it to spend. For now, Aph would play the peasant, patiently waiting until the day came for her to rise up to what she is. The blue roan smiled and chuckled at this, pressing on further, waiting until some life came her to, before she found them.
She Has Arrived to Rule You All
