"Beware..." scream the birds from above you. "She kills for games. She kills for fun." Something deep inside tells you to listen. Your body tells you not to go no further. Do you listen or do you dare move into the pack borders. This could be a life or death decision...

Follow the Queen, or become a corpse that lines her border. The choice lies with you.

Occasionally, a falling leaf doesn't make it to the ground when the wind snags it from its precarious perch upon a tree or shrub. At least, it doesn't make it at first. That is what happened when a holly leaf carefully made its way to settle on an alabaster muzzle. A proud toss of the head was enough to have it carry on with its journey, but Pyrosen suddenly clamped his jaws on it. The leaf was a lush, dark green with a sickly yellow around the edges. Fascinated, his teeth sank into it, and bitter juices flooded into his mouth. His tongue burned, yet he liked a challenge. So much did the boy concentrate on the leaf that he nearly injested it. A raven's frightening caw and the echo of Fate's warning voice was enough for him to spit it out. A scarlet berry, perfectly round and a beautiful blood color, protruded from the leaf. It also carried the vengeance of autumn, as the stem withered and crackled. He leaned over and stared at it, muttering inconspicuous words. Most would think he was insane, talking to a non-living thing, but he was merely analyzing it. When something doesn't have a Mind's Eye, it has something else.

Before he could do anything else, the scent of a lady reached his nose. But, the important thing was, she was a part of the pack. His optics stared into her forehead, the blue creatures pulsing with a new life. He drank in her mind, and it was not until a great silence stilled him that he spoke.

"I do not have time for petty talk, but Madam, I speak respectfully. I wish to join this pack, for I see that intellect is at a high level here."

His voice was firm and raspy, as if he were an old man in a pup's body. Pyrosen waited for the woman's reply as the alabaster creature bore upon the Mind's Eye that penetrated her cranium.
