Ebony paws that mirrored Sidorio’s stepped over a dead branch and for a short time; the prince paused to look at it and the broken, ugly stump that it had left behind. However, it was already composting, weeds forming like parasites and life went o, not caring or weeping. Life goes on, life never stops, for nothing or no one. A howl called a hunt, but the absence of his mother was just the kick of the lid for Kaizer to let his rump meet the ground, Scents gathered and soon left for the plateau and Kaizer waited, for what he had no idea, but he felt he shouldn’t leave. Who was left to protect the pack land if everyone left for a hunt?

Ears whipped up as his nose pulled in a different scent, a new, fresh, invigorating one. The alpha. His mother. Queens. His emerald eyes rose from the dirt to the sky and he barely looked to his right before running. The clouds were formed beautifully and the day was sunny, but a crisp gust blew here and there. He made a sharper turn, headed for deeper and deeper terra. Fully developed legs ate up the ground like the bloodhound he was bred to be and he loped cleanly into his mothers view and let a grin spread across his face. Kaizer did not judge his mother for her current state, he simply was glad to see both his mother and his alpha back in her rightful place.

Mother!

He gambled up to her and nuzzled her chin, throat and neck affectionately as always. Kaizer showed a greater appreciation for her, simply because he had not had a mother for most of his life. All he had was Arcadian and although Arcadian never did him wrong, he never could bear to call him his father to Arcadians face. He wasn’t sure why, maybe because he felt Sidorio was instead his father? That he was more black and red than white inside. His emeralds focused on her and canvassed her frame for any injury, any sign of why she had been gone so long. Then he mentally slapped himself; of course his mother had a plan, what it was, who the fuck knew. Inside that mind was a dark and twisted; yet brilliant being and Kaizer childishly hoped he could grow up to inherit those qualities.

The rest of them will be a while. Just left on a hunt speared by the devil. Plenty of time for us to catch up…

Kaizer spoke in an almost broken, direct way that was very to the point and almost difficult to hear. His mother would understand its true meaning; he wanted to know what she was up to and if possible, why? A dark chuckle left Kaizer’s mouth as he purred out something that his siblings were rather to say- but the dark and crimson male had learned a lot from them.

Oh my, what’s a wolf to do when the borders are dry and free of blood these days. I feel like I’ve forgotten what fear smells like.

The emperor grinned and flopped onto the ground, onto his back, almost dramatically, as if he couldn’t bear the thought.
