aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

he's always been a pack wolf, and it's sort of unsettling to Cian that he's already spent four months traveling alone. sure, leaving as a teen might have been a stupid idea when he already had a loving family still letting him stay, but it was that wanderlust that all young wolves seem to have and can't quell just by roaming through a territory. he's not sure where he is, now. he'd been welcomed in by this pretty white girl who was obviously way too old for him and way out of his league, and then he'd just been free in a forest that smelled of wolves and other good things.

slowly, he treks through the borderlines between packs. night fell long ago, the sun disappearing beneath the horizon and leaving behind a cloak of midnight. Cian blends into the shadows with his dark coat but his eyes glint under the barest hint of light---when he looks up through the trees, he is met by the sight of brilliant colors that tear the sheet of pitch black apart. it's a mystifying sight and he needs to collect himself because his breath has caught in his throat, his heart tripping at the sky's beauty like it always does. there has to be something wired wrong in his brain, but Cian's never really given a fuck and nor has anyone else.

loud, angry conversation between a proud voice and a somewhat morose one---both males---captures his attention. the boy's fierce golden eyes hold vague amusement, and a small smile that flirts the line with a smirk lifts at his lips. pack drama? well, no one ever said that Cian had to stay away. as he pads forward, his tail swinging jovially behind him, he cocks an eyebrow at the pale brother's apparent irritation, displayed clearly through his risen hackles and dark growl. the other one is on a rock, watching with a mixture of apathy and similar annoyance. how interesting.

fearlessly, the wolf steps forward and nudges the white boy with his shoulder. the look in his eyes states play along, bro, and it's clear by his relaxed muscles and unassuming posture that he means absolutely no harm; it's only that smirky thing on his face that might make the ranked male a little suspicious. ah, if he died today at least it had been a good ride, right? "y'know, kid, there's this little thing called common sense that comes in handy every now and then." self-assurance and bluntness is in his husky tone. "i mean, if you wanted to actually put that gray matter in your head to use, you'd turn and run like your ass is on fire. not sure how long mr. snowboy over here can handle himself." Cian tilts his head to the side, his ears twisting to one side and his tail continuing to thump against the damp ground as if he hasn't just intruded on a potentially dangerous situation. beneath the northern lights, he looks like some sort of devil-creature, spawned of the dark.

hopefully, though, the pack boy would understand that that's not who he is. not really.
