At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

I hate the way he tortures me, describing some lucky girl before jumping to the chase and hinting that the girl is me. I don't try to read too much into it. Sure, I could sit here and wonder if he cares about me, if he loves me, but my inner self just yells "of course he does!" I've liked Hachiko since day one and I've always felt that he was the same. He's always followed me around and we stuck up for each other. He felt so bad when he accidentally knocked me into the lake that day. I thought he was going to start crying because he thought I was dead. Silly boy.

When I launch at him, I manage to take him unawares just as I had planned. We tumble for a bit before landing in the grass with me on top. I grin down at him, mischief in my eyes. I feel my skin on fire from the close contact, my hormones raging inside as I fight from taking him right here. Naughty Nova! I swear, it's like I'm not a virgin sometimes. I am, I swear! Still, he feels so rugged and chiseled beneath my paws. I feel like letting them roam but I manage to stop myself, a blush heating up the skin beneath my dark mottled coat.

He listens to my teasing voice before chuckling and it's good to hear such a carefree laugh from his gorgeous lips. This is like the Hachiko I know and love. Suddenly he tenses though, throwing all his weight to the side. I'm dislodged without much effort since I wasn't really planning on him fighting back for position. My face falls into a playful pout as I roll onto my stomach from my side just as he brings his muzzle to my ear. At his flirtacious words, my body shivers with ecstacy. Then he leans in, grabbing my ear in his teeth and my skin jolts with lust at the contact. A gasp of pleasure escapes my lips before he lets go and takes off into the woods, heading toward the lake. I get to my feet, hesitating only a second before launching after him.

I tell myself that I can do this, it's just water, right? I try to focus on keeping up or beating him if I can, my strides lengthening as I gain on the handsome prince. It doesn't take us long to reach the lake, the tantalizing smell of water making fear rise in my chest. What if I can't do this? What if I'm too scared to get in? What if I drown? I slow down, no longer focused on Hachiko but on the water beyond him. He seems at peace here, his features blissful but I can't focus on that though I try. All I can see is the haunting water. A soft whimper escapes my lips as I remember the cold pull of the water, not knowing which way is up and how the water scorched my lungs like fire when I finally gave up and sucked it in.

I remember the darkness and the peaceful pull as I started to let go before Hachiko dove in and save me from the water. How ironic that he's taking me back to it now, trying to teach me how to conquer it. My ears fold back as Hachiko stops by the water, stopping to look around for me. My posture has changed ten fold since leaving Saw Tooth. My neck is arched down submissively, my head low and my ears back. My eyes are full of fear and hesitation, my tail low behind me, almost tucked. My eyes plead with him to save me, not to let me fall. He looks so confident and peaceful that I almost feel like pushing him but something tells me he has already had his swimming lessons.
