So I’ll break it
Knowing what you said
The pain is what you make it
Sadly you are so mistaken

Patrick had spent a lot of time hiding, a lot of time hidden away with his children. He fought with demons, he fought with himself, he fought with Lolli. He watched his children grow, age, watched them yearn to see the new world that was forming around them. But the boy could not bring himself to venture out yet. He was trying to find himself, again. It seemed there were times when he almost had, when he’d been content with what he thought he knew about himself. But then, something would happen, and his resolve would shatter, and once more, he was just a small, sad, lost little boy. He’d allowed people to walk all over him, allowed them to walk over his children. He hadn’t been there for some of them, a few growing bitter, or running away. He would make amends, and he would find himself, and he would be strong. He would find his missing children, if they were still around, and he would try to fix the fissures that may have formed.

Pat doesn’t know how long he spent hidden away, he doesn’t really care. He knows the world has changed, and he now knows that he has changed. His resolve had solidified, he would walk into this world a new man, and he would never walk out again.

He places a musicians hand on the Sabre Tooths back; a deep breath is exhaled as he moves forward. He moves forward, pausing and looking back. His children, all clasping hands and worried smiles, stare back at him. And encouraging smile spreads across his face, silver eyes lighting with love. He knows now why he had failed so many times before. He had never appreciated the full extent of love he felt for the small fairies before him. He will not forget. As he moves forward, they follow, little shadows encouraging him forward. Never again will he falter, never again will he fall back into the black.

They arrive at the Silver Cove, and Patrick smiles to his children.
“Go and have fun. Meet people, find old friends.”
‘Where are you going papa?’
Patrick smiles down at Demi, placing an encouraging hand on her ever damp head.
“I’m going to find an old friend myself. I’ll be back before dark.”
The small girl holds out her smallest finger, and Patrick laughs, grasping hers in his.
“Pinky promise!”
And with that, he’s allowed to leave.

The pair moves through the trees, silent and cautious. This new world confuses them slightly, but they do not stumble as they find their way to the Castle. It is Arthur they seek. Though they may not have called themselves friends (though Patrick would quite happily lay that label on the King), he would be the best person to talk to about what is going on, what has happened. That, and the boy wants a place to live for him and his children.

Barefoot and silent, they arrive at the castle, and the boy takes a moment to stare. He wonders how much Arthur will have changed. For Paddy is sure many years have passed, yet he has not aged a day since they last met. His body has changed, taking on a wiry, springy appearance. Though Patrick would never be able to have the muscle mass of the King, or many others, he is no longer a small boy with no way of protecting himself. His body is lithe and athletic, and some may say he now has the qualities of an assassin. In a sleeveless top and jeans, it is unlikely many would look at him twice. Unless they saw his eyes. The silver orbs are so striking, being the eyes of an old man on a young boys face.

He moves towards someone, he doesn’t know who, gaining their attention.
“I’d like to see King Arthur please.”
The person looks him up and down, rolls their eyes and huffs.
‘Do you have an appointment?’
“No. But I have some catching up to do.”
The fairy blinks at him, scoffing, and looks like they’re about to go into some form of rant. Patrick lays an quieting hand on the Sabre Tooth, who is debating ripping this fools head off.
“They’re not much of a challenge for a Sabre Tooth Pops.”
“And their blood may be too bitter for my tastes. However, I’d be happy to make an exception.”
She growls back in his head, her golden eyes narrowing to slits. Someone had better help this fool, Patrick can only fend the tigress off for so long.

I will take you with a grain
And step into the changes
Throw away the empty heart
