The husky brute continued to whine, yelping into the cold air, unconscious as to who heard him or what they thought of him. Water - water put out fire, yes? And they'd been so near a river, he remembered he'd crashed through one in the shallows, fording it when the cream-colored fem he'd chased had thought that maybe water would slow him. It had not, a thought that almost had him smiling save for the pain he knew the action would cause. No; he'd go to the river, then he'd sleep this pain off. Seppo was a coward. And, as cowards do, the husky brute high-tailed it away, quiet suddenly as he made his way back through the underbrush to the cold cold river behind him. He'd forget this encounter, the stupid girl, her stupid mate - he'd curl into himself for the winter, and maybe, just maybe, he would die.
Seppo's sudden cessation of cries left an eerie void, causing a strange, horrible silence to fall over the pair. Noor knew Ryu was hurt, knew that her nudging and cuddling would do little to help him, could possibly even hurt him, but she couldn't bear to move away for now. She'd been hurt, and indeed at the moment felt broken, useless; a stupid toy, used and thrown away. Not by Ryu, of course; never by Ryu. He was there for her now, wasn't he? What a kind male, a sweetheart, gentle and caring... but still, she'd been abused. She'd been dirtied by the black and white husky, soiled, and she felt it with everything in her. Aching, hurting, she nodded numbly as Ryu urged her from the scene, offering only a puppish whine as response. The two battered souls moved on together, though to be honest Noor was just glad she had a noble, sweet male like Ryu by her side.
