The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Karma’s pristine face whirled to the left, grey eyes narrowing as the dark grey streaks surrounding her eyes dipped. Carmen had failed her duty in guarding the mirror images as they tore at the meat, and the result was a rusty pelted male covered in a variety of unique markings stood on the edge of the clearing. Hey, I don’t want any trouble. Karma snarled around the meat, hackles rising slightly. She knew the rumours circling Abendrot; this teen was going to have to try much harder to convince her he wasn’t on his pack’s side. Can you get me out of here?

If the ice loving femme hadn’t had her mouth stuffed with his pack’s food she would have told him where to go. To get her point across, her snarl increased in volume and she full out glared at the male. There was pure distrust in her orbs, golden yellow stripes seeming to flash with annoyance. There was no time to get more meat; they had to get out of here right now. She wasn’t afraid, merely running thoroughly on adrenaline coursing through her, when her muscles began to quiver. Though Jack Frost had made it perfectly clear that they had no bonds tying the group together that would be cause for them to help one another out, she couldn’t help her own nature. These teens were like her and she didn’t feel so great about full out abandoning them.

Jack Frost apparently was going to make her decision for her, as she noticed movement in the corner of her eye from the white male. Her muscles drew taut all at once as she made to bound in the direction they’d come. However, instead of doing as expected the male had leapt towards her. A drift of snow from the force of his landing flew into her face, the substance she was so united with temporarily used against her. As his ankle caught her she fell to the snow, cold seeping through one side and meat falling from her mouth, rolling until it came to a stop a few metres from her.

A growl ripped through Karma as she yelled, "What the hell?" to his retreating form. She saw red, angry at his betrayal. She’d been left to whatever soldier’s the stranger had brought with him whilst Jack Frost was making his get away. Carmen, no doubt, would be following straight after. Knowing the reputation of Abendrot, Karma felt edginess grow deep inside her, perhaps the starts of fear.

All of a sudden, the anger building inside the delicate creature dissipated as heavy paws landed right where she’d been stood only a second ago. Not thinking, Karma rolled to the side and jumped up with a grumble, shaking off the snow. She looked ahead and took the bristled femme in; she was definitely danger. Teeth exposed and crouched in what would have been a position deadly to Karma had Jack Frost not saved her, the white femme couldn’t help but let a giggle escape her maw. Luck was definitely on her side today. She bounded over the carcass, pushing a drift of snow towards the femme still recovering her failed attack. With no time to pick up the meat, she decided to leave that failed mission.

Carmen, she noticed, was still stood near the first male. As Karma dashed past, she let her dazzling voice sing out, "Good luck, fire mistress!" Then she picked up her speed and darted off, leaving only the memory of a white blot against the shadows of the trees, heading to the borders. She halted with a small skid as she looked back to check nobody had followed her. Breathing a sigh of relief as she was alone for now, she scented Jack Frost’s markings along the border.

Smirking, the fair pelted femme paused under the falling snow to add a marking of her own beside the other teen’s. They would know they hadn’t scared the pair, that they’d be back in the future to cause more trouble. The scent was a warning message from the group, signalling of more chaos to come. That done, Karma began the long run back to the Stones, partially following the other’s scent but also deducing that he’d go back to where Eris and RoeVy still stayed. Hopefully he’d been able to keep some of the meat he tore off. Carmen, if not captured, wouldn’t be too far behind.
