The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

A pure white female lopes in next, mischief in her eyes as she turns to her siblings, telling them they'll have their fill later. I frown, eyes narrowing. So much for keeping ssecrets. This family sucks at that. I watch her brush against the other whitemale Onyx then again Prussia before settling down with the black boy Damon. Then her eyes start sweeping the clearing. I meet her gaze evenly when her eyes land on me, quirking a brow but saying nothing. She continues looking around until her eyes land on Cade. I listen as she teases the young queen, asking her why she's not above her subjects. I'm sure Cade's going to have fun with this one.

The only one who seems to have any brains is the leader, Damon. He growls at the young Sakari, about to do something about her smart mouth when Cade beats him to it by pinning her to the ground. When Onyx makes a remark, Damon turns on him, his eyes a warning. When Prussia arrives, Damon gives her a look as well, letting her know that Sakari deserves her punishment. He must know her well. I'm sure as tight knit as this group is, they will turn on Cade in a minute if they feel like any of their number is threatened.

When Vorkuta arrives, Damon speaks to him before asking him to watch Onyx. Bad when you've got to have baby sitters over your own family. When Damon looks at me and purposely approaches, I stiffen, eyes watching him, calculating on what his intentions are. About this time, the white female Soviet appears and Damon greets her. Then another male appears, this one a mystery in itself. When he passes by me, he hesitates, is if my lifestyle oozes out of my pores like a scent. But I've heard that those who are aware can smell the danger on your coat, the death that follows you like a plague. Maybe that's what he senses. I keep my face neutral as he goes on by, watching him brush against the family of vampires. Ah, another one to add to the group. He settles down next to Damon, his look admiring.

After a few moments, I can sense eyes on me and I glance over to see Darien looking at me, assessing me. I quirk a brow but say nothing, letting him have his fill. Finally he looks away, checking out Quirino. This is going to be interesting, living with other vampires again, though these aren't safely under my command as the ones in Munashii. I can't control these and that makes me more cautious. If they let out the secret so easily, what's to say they won't bring me out as well? Cade already knows, or at least has a belief of what I am, but the others have no clue. Thanks to these guys, that secret may be history.

Catching a familiar perfume, or at least one I've smelled at least once before, I look up, ice blues catching the malnourished looking figure at the edge of the clearing. I recognize her as soon as I see her, Clover. I remember that day I found her, too weak to stand up, too weak to move. I had to speak softly because regular volume hurt her ears. I gave her food, a leg off a wolf I'd drained. It wasn't prime venison but it would keep her alive. She ate it hesitantly, as if guessing where it came from but I guess hunger was too much to bear. And now she looks worse, if that's possible. I watch her, wondering whether I should go up to her. Will she even remember me?

When she doesn't even look up, I let my instincts guide me, getting up to go over to her. I stop beside her and speak softly, just as I did that day I found her. You must be hungry. Turning my head, I meet Cade's gaze. I don't know if you could say I was asking permission, more like telling her what I'm going to do. I'm going to hunt, for Clover. Then I disappear, racing off into the woods. Not far past the borders, I find the trail of a rabbit, meandering around for grass. Following the trail, I find a small clearing with some rabbit holes. Licking my lips, I jump at the first hole and start digging, making the hole bigger. When I start hearing the screaming, I know I'm close so I back off, jumping at the next hole, bringing my front paws down to whack the earth, making the hole collapse in. It did exactly what I wanted. I turn back to the first hole as soon as the ground falls in, just in time to see a flash of brown fur dive out of the hole and race into the woods. I'm right on his tail as he zig zags through the trees. Seeing a log fallen across the path up ahead, I steal my chance, picking up speed before jumping to the side, my paws launching me off of a tree trunk to come flying back to the side just as the rabbit goes to launch himself over the log.

As soon as he gets mid air over the log, I come back across, my jaws snapping closed around his waist. He screams but it's cut short as I bite down and shake, breaking his spine. I land on my feet with a huff of breath and immediately turn back to the clearing where I left Clover and the others. Not caring for the consequences if Cade didn't want me to leave the meeting so early, I race back to where I left the emaciated figure. Stopping at the edge, I drop the corpse at her feet and nudge it to her, stepping back, my tongue lolled out, my sides heaving from my little run. My eyes are alive though as blood soaks my lips. I lick them slowly, savoring the taste but I'm not about to dig into the rabbit and drain it right in front of everyone. Besides, I like wolf blood better.
