At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

I think I'll change my ways
I see the frustration etched across her face and it bugs me. How I wish she had the knowledge I did, it would make this much more simply. I shift closer and grab ahold of the multi toned scruff of hers to keep her above the water, my last attempt before throwing in the towel. I feel her relax in to me, obviously seeking comfort right now which didn't surprise me. If circumstances had been different I would have stayed there with her for aslong as she wanted, embracing her offering every ounce of affection she could ever need or know what to do with. She clues on quick enough and I feel the water rush about below us, telling me she is kicking once more. She catches her rhythm and I smile between my grasp on her scruff, feeling the excitement flow from her pelt. I give it a few seconds more before letting her go gently and for a brief moment I think she's going to head back under, sink beneath the glossy surface when she surprises me and keeps herself afloat. That's my girl.. Pride swells in my chest as I grow tired, today had been long and I was in need of some rest but I know I have a reasonable journey back to the mountains tonight. The thought of leaving Nova saddens me, ears falling back to my skull for a moment when I think about it. I don't belong at Saw Tooth nor do I belong at Aurora Borealis, i've been away from both for so long, the mountains have become more familiar to me now. Nova enjoys herself more and more, toning her new found skill, paddling happily further away from me before turning back with a smile on her face. I smile back, eyes beaming with pride and I want to tell her how happy I am for her and how good she is at swimming, but I hold back knowing she probably knows that already. She calls out to me, barking with joy telling me she's doing it and I can't hold back a chuckle before turning about and heading for shore. I easily step from the cool depths and shake out my multi hued cloak ridding what excess water I could before turning to see Nova following me. Suddenly i'm taken by surprise, her femeinine figure bounds in to mine and I shuffle back ever so slightly with a chuckle as she licks my face. I feel warm beneath my pelt but welcome the affection non the less when she tells me again she did it and it's all thanks to me. I stay quiet when she rubs her neck against me and I can't hold back tightening our embrace, leaning my neck over hers holding her there wishing I never had to let go. I inhale her perfume, its so familiar and as breathtaking as I remember it. Still, all good things must come to an end. I recluctantly loosen my grip and let her body slide away from me so I can look at her. My soft brown optics full of love and kindness reserved for her alone when I speak, tone sootheing. "I never doubted you for a second, you did great." I shift my attention from her briefly to glance toward the overhead clouds that catch my eye. Ah, no doubt a storm will be following suit. Gentle rain pellets fall from the dark, depressing clouds above us and I turn back to Nova and smile before speaking up again. "C'mon, let's get you outa' the rain" I turn my weight and prepare to head back to Saw Tooth, dinner would have to wait till another time, I didn't want Nova catching her death out here. At a steady trek I begin back and look round every so often to be sure Nova is close by. I'd just got her back, I didn't want to lose her again. Hachiko
