Well there are now quite a few doing serious research. There already have been some promising finds that may eventually confirm by someone. May not be me directly, but the idea is to confirm. they are around, but very elusive. The bobcats people are seeing are a distraction, but its nice to see them more plentiful too. Note that out west where mountain lions are common, game cam photos are still pretty rare. You do see deer kills and scat. Turns out talking to hunters, they have seen deer kill sites and it didnt occur to them they may have been mountain lion. Now they are aware. This alreay has resulted in a confirmation in RI, and others still under study.
