Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Garuda's first reaction to the single arrival was disappointment. Here he had gone to all that trouble creating his lovely signal (not that it had actually been any trouble, but he was a lazy bird). Then of course he was risking even more bother and work if whoever followed the signal managed to survive the trip, rather than dying or failing horribly as Garuda had secretly hoped (and probably intended to assist with, if a decent opportunity had presented itself), but what did his labor earn him instead? Nothing but the attentions of a beast who had already passed, and was thus of no interest or use to him at all.
He'd just really wanted to see someone die today...

The phoenix let little of his disappointment show, however, though that may have been simply because birds were not so gifted in expression as mammals were.
He held a regal pose as the spirit made his blunt introduction, swan-like neck set in a curve that was at once elegant and threatening, the latter effect due to the wickedly sharp curve at the tip of his beak. Blade was regarded with a challenging stare. The bird's eyes were the ethereal blue at the heart of a flame, standing out brightly beneath the char-black crest of feathers that crowned his head. His proud chest contracted with a silent huff of breath. There was nothing for it but to talk with the entity, though he was pettily tempted to fly away without a word. It would do his reputation little good to be so rude, he knew, so he hissed one word in return.

"Garuda."
