Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The phoenix did not look terribly impressed, but again, it was hard to tell. He listened to Blade's rambling with partially lidded eyes, reading the request between the lines. Mortals were beggars, all of them, greedy for more than their share of life. In his pride, Garuda found it insulting. Eternal life was his right by birth, not theirs. Could the lowly beasts not accept their place in the world? Was it not said that a short life made for a rich one? Certainly Garuda knew the doldrums of immortality. In rare moments of weakness, he'd very nearly envied the beasts who die. He couldn't comprehend why some of them insisted on hanging around after their bodies were gone. How did they not go mad from inactivity?

But none of this was said to Blade. The ghost wasn't likely to understand anyway. He was here, after all.

Clacking his beak in a 'tut tut' sort of way, Garuda gave his long neck a stretch and puffed up his feathers as if he'd just woken from a nap. As the scarlet plumes settled slowly back into place, he replied.

"You asssk me to give you the blessing of life ssso that you may brrring more death. This sssseems a rather backwardsss requessst."

He left it up to Blade to determine just what he meant by that hissing commentary. He rather hoped the spirit would think that he did not approve of the offer to kill. It would be amusing to see the dead thing backpedal over that detail.
