Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

MAE stretched her weary bones out and stepped out of the cave she had been living in. For the past few months she lived in a cave on Misty Mountain. The grey and white femmora padded onto a ledge, laying down. The cave was around 12 feet away from the hard, cold ground. Today was the day she was going to go home. To Abendrot, with her children and king. She closed her mossy grey eyes and was laying there peacefully when a bird startled the sleeping beauty. MAE jumped up and snapped at the bird, she sighs and steps back, but misses the rock. Her large mass slips and she scrambles to drag herself back up onto the ledge. Her grey and black paws loose purchase and she falls. It was a relatively short fall, but she didn't turn fast enough. On the way down she smashed into other ledges trying to grab them, but not being able to. She hits the rough and rocky ground with a final oof. Slowly the once great 'ess dies from blood loss, she smiles and looks up, glad that she had someone to carry on her blood line. MAE can only hope that Juliet, her favorite, will tell the story of her mother. Then, MAE realizes, she never told any of her children that she loved them, or even liked them. Her eyes fill with guilt as she slowly dies, while she realizes she's all alone in this world.
