NAME | Cobryn

APPEARANCE | A black and white wolf with some grey thrown in. The average color of most grey wolves, with a sort of definitive look that is all his own. He is well proportioned and muscled, with strong jaws and thick bones. Pretty usual structure otherwise that is common in most grey wolves, though maybe more bulky in appearance. He has smooth medium length fur, but slightly longer on his spine area. He is 36 inches in height; nothing too big or small and just about even. However, he weighs in at 163 pounds, which is why he is considered bulky and well muscled.

SAMPLE -
He was a little worn from the fight. His foreleg was sore, the muscles swollen and leaving him with a limp. Pain along the whole area made him grunt with the effort of moving, but he had done it for a good cause, and he had no regrets about it. Even had he been beaten or killed, there would have been no regret. A part of him had started to fade already, and Cobryn was starting to feel a lack or worth the past few days. It had been creeping up and in, and he wasn't sure why it had been happening. He wanted to shake it off and move onward, but it wasn't working. Even with the promise of new life within his mate's womb and the pack now under his protection.. Cobryn still felt ill at ease. He wanted to retreat from everyone and try to figure this all out for himself. And yet he also knew that if he tried to do that, he might only lose himself more. It was a difficult thing to deal with. Life had not been easy for him, and of course it always came to the point when he thought life was giving him rest and happiness for all his suffering that it came right back at him. It was a never-ending circle and he was starting to feel tired. He wasn't all that old though, was he? Nine wasn't bad. Sure, it was only three years less then Apollymi had been... right? But her death hadn't been natural. Of course, the truth remained that Cobryn wasn't of the same species as those born here. Lifespans weren't that long for his kind. He can't be sure where the line will be drawn or when he will start to really feel his age.

He thinks that he can feel it now. All the things he had been through in his life? Of course it was starting to get to him. It would get to anyone after awhile, wouldn't it? From start to now, life had not been the most easy of things on Cobryn. Before he was even born he had to be hidden away from the pack. Cast out because of how he had been created and the problems it could create. Cobryn's father had a mate, and it had not been his mother. Roan had been the heir of the pack, and thus looked more upon. There was no way it could be worked out for Cobryn's mother to keep her litter. She hid it away from them all, keeping away through the pregnancy and giving birth in another pack that agreed to take the pups in. There isn't a lot more of it that Cobryn knows, and he's not really sure he needs to know of all that had occured in the pack of his parents after he had been born. His own life had to be thought about at that point. There had been three sisters born in the litter, and two of those had been raised by the pack they had been left in along with Cobryn. Katra, a sister, had been lost, nabbed by another pack. It wasn't horrible to grow up in the pack with his two other sisters, but it still lacked a certain type of bond most pups got with parents. It was much more loose, no real lines there that should or shouldn't be crossed aside for the obvious no killing randomly of the pack or others. So much had been left out. Cobryn had always looked for more. Wanted more then that. Wanted to be close to others instead of stuck on the in-between of where he was. That had helped mold him.

Aris left first, going off with their mother after a year or so, and eventually Aleu went her own way as well. Cobryn was the last to leave the pack he grew up in, but he had taken to wandering for half a year before finding Moladion. In that half-year things had happened with a female, though to this day Cobryn doubts anything came of it. A moment of being lost and wanting more and suddenly realizing after it was done that there would never be anything more to it. It was done and over already, and he couldn't cling to that, no matter how much he might have wanted to. So he moved on, found this place. At that point he had taken the search for a pack very seriously. He could not fall into just any pack, no. He had to make sure, get used to the lands here. Get a feel for everything. Then he had met Apollymi while checking out packs. Cobryn hadn't been looking for it, never really thought that he'd fall the way he did. Yet it had happened, and he had decided to settle into Judila for her. Not all that long after he had asked her to become his mate, and that had been good and well until Winter had struck. There was something so strange about this land and the way the things effected him here. He knows that he had not been in complete control of his hormones then. He should not have done it, but even then he had not found a way to regret what had happened, not when it had led to the birth of four beautiful children. As of now, Cobryn is unsure where he stands in regards to his children with Hazard. He still adores the girl -- but not in a mately way -- but Risk has damaged something in Cobryn when it comes to that litter. No way around that truth.

As for Apollymi's litter, Cobryn feels unsure. Mockingbird had been.... useless as a male and therefore as an heir. Cobryn knew from the start something was wrong with the boy. He smelled off. Lacked what caused one to know their child was male by scent. Physically Mockingbird looked in perfect health. But it was nothing more then a mockary of what should have been. Cobryn had been discouraged, and some part of him had blamed Apollymi's genetics for the ordeal. It made more sense that way. To this day it still makes the most sense that the problem lay within his older, late mate. Liah, however, was a child that he could be proud of and feel like he had helped create someone that could both be something more and he could call daughter. It wasn't great yet, but Cobryn knew he had to be a better father to Liah. To show her that she still mattered to him. He was thankful that she was giving him that chance, he really was. It meant so much to him. There had already been enough hard times since Liah's birth. After Apollymi had been killed, so many had wanted him to stay and fight for the Judila crown. It was his right to do so, yet without Apollymi there, Cobryn had no reason to fight. He had no wish to take the throne or rule. It had never been his thing. It still wasn't and he was pretty sure it never would be. That was just not the kind of male Cobryn was. He did not need that kind of power or rank. What he wanted was different. It was about being himself and being respected for that reason, not because there was some kind of crown involved. It was who he was. It wasn't going to just change. Cobryn did not want to change.

And with the issues that had arisen after taking a second mate? The whole Judila and Mirovis wanting to go to war thing had gotten way out of hand. It wasn't what he had wanted to happen. He did not want to see his friends and family being ripped apart. Cobryn had only wanted peace. He wanted to keep his families and friends safe. Those that had mattered to him. Lurid had been expecting as things got worse, and then with the imprint thing.... Cobryn had tried, he really had. He had stayed and promised to do so for Lurid, even when she couldn't just choose him. When she wanted him and her imprint, and couldn't part with either. He had stuck it out for her, for their coming pups. He had wanted to try to be a good father this time. A better one. He had been guilty of not being there enough for the first two, and wanted to make sure it did not happen to the ones with Lurid. But then when things progressed more... he had tried to get the peace to work with Jaidah and Lurid, but Lurid pressed for it even more, and then Jaidah wanted to see which pack would win... Cobryn had been at odds and needed to leave Mirovis. After the litter had been born and Cobryn took the litter to Trenus for safety while the war went foreward. Then; Lurid was gone. No word, no anything to say what happened, what may have caused it. To this day he doesn't know where or why. He hopes that he'd gone after her to look... There are still the blank spots. There may always be those empty spaces in his mind as to what really happened after that. But Cobryn holds to the idea that he went to look for her. He has to. Needs it. It keeps him sane.

Then there's the point where just thinking about all of this makes him realize more about his life, his mistakes and what he was doing now. More of the same and Cobryn wasn't sure what he was juggling now. He wasn't leaving, he had gotten Judila out of Abraxus' grasp for the sake of a better future. He wasn't so sure about his own, though. He still loves Jaidah, and he will love his new children, too. Yet has he done the right thing? Was he making more of a mess? He couldn't be sure. All he could do was take it one day at a time and hope it all worked out somehow. That no one would get too hurt. Perhaps that would force him to hurt himself over and over again, but if that was how it must be, then so be it. He doesn't know what will happen, he just knows that he wants to be settled down with his family and do the right thing. He can have that now if he just pushes his other feelings away. They won't be moved, but Cobryn will not faulter again, no. He will stay loyal in action because that was how it should be. Judila would be in good paws with both Jaidah and Enigma ruling and he enforcing those rules. He wasn't here to make the choices; they were. And once they had, he would make sure the others followed and stayed in line. He would defend the pack as he should and whatever heavy lifting he was to do for them. But the real power, that wasn't what he wanted or needed. He had done this for Enigma and Jaidah and his family. Not for himself. Cobryn was happy with that choice, and even if he had bled and had a bit of a limp for awhile in order to do that for them; he was happy to accept that. He had done what he felt was needed to do, and now he could settle into a pack without constant wandering around like he usually did. He had a set home, and this time he meant to keep it.

Today he rests at the borders, wondering how Jaidah and Enigma are doing, settling into their places. He hasn't seen Enigma around for awhile, but certainly she knows what has happened? Maybe he should seek her out later. He ponders this, but decides that she will come out when she is ready and not a moment before. He will not bother her. He's already doing his best to keep his mood up since winning Judila, after having spoken with Heyel. It was a breaking point, speaking with the Trenus alpha. Cobryn had been unable to leave that little meeting without issues arising, though most of them resided within his own mind and emotions. There was no way around the fact that damage had been done, and Cobryn wasn't sure it could be corrected. He had been happier to keep it all hidden under the surface. He had needed that for peace of mind, and now there could be none of that for him. It had escaped him, and he could only try to glue back together the pieces and try to ignore the way it had all made him feel. He had to turn his gaze to the bright side of everything, and he was trying. Yet he was worn, too. He lays here through the first few Spring days with folded paws and his head placed over them, trying to uncoil the problems that twist and curl through his mind. He leaves the important things to those who should deal with them and waits to be called if there is a matter that he is needed for. Otherwise, he rests to regain his lost strength and checks in with Jaidah to make sure she is okay. He had actually started to doze off for a nap when the sound comes and shakes him awake. Jaidah is calling, and he knows why. He perks up already and groans as he moves to his paws; the ache of his leg and shoulder sending waves of pain through his system as he moves as quickly as he can with the injury to where Jaidah is. Her den.
