SAMPLE: Finally, everything is over. With Amir’s death, nothing would threaten us again. We were safe. I couldn’t risk leaving that bastard alive to come seek his revenge. I know he would come! Why else he would train so hardly? He wouldn’t harm anyone two years ago, now he is completely changed? I know he is not this kind of Wolf. He would come after me and I couldn’t risk him coming after what I love here. I also had my own revenge for what he hadn’t done years ago to stop me from killing his mother. It would have turned out all different. But there is something way. If he finds out it was me who planted that rabbit for him to eat in the thickets he would never restore my name and honor. If only he understood my purposes. I am only protecting everything I love! That’s all! I was also running out of time, Amir would come soon to kill me. No! I wouldn’t sit and wait until he was ready to come after me.
I made my way back towards Trenus, with quite a bounce to my step. I was really relieved. I wouldn’t have to worry about a Wolf coming after me. I was free to live my life. I stopped and looked back, sitting down and observing the heavy storm. It was a true lightning show. Amir is probably suffering now. I don’t think he would survive to that plant, it’s too poisonous for anyone to survive. I guess there is no need to think about it anymore.
When I was about to turn, I felt something touch my back. I turned quickly and broke into defense. After what happened between me and Jaidah at the Clearings that night, I am always more alert. My eyes greeted Ruvindra’s gaze. She took a few steps back after landing. I relaxed again and just looked at her. She was observing me for quite some time. I don’t know how long exactly, but I know she had been. Why else would she come to me to ask this? She could have waited until morning and just came to my den to talk to me, she chose to come and do it now. I just stared at her, noticing her impatient tail behind her.
Before I could even pronounce a word, Heyel showed up. My head turned to meet his own violet eyes. Something is wrong. He stopped slightly to my side blocking my path to the pack lands. Why would he stop me from entering my own home? It is obvious to me. He doesn’t trust me. I wouldn’t blame him. After talking to him the way I did as I gave my word, I didn’t expect him to trust me at all. I had to do this.
He commented ruvindra’s question and just demanded me to tell him where I have been. His voice with a warning tone. I couldn’t lie to him again. Even if I wanted. I did it once, but only to protect everything.
- I...- My head lowered slightly in shame – I was taking care of Amir. In the thickets. That’s where he trains most of the nights.
I’m not proud of what I had done. But I had to. I wouldn’t explain myself to Heyel or Ruvindra if they didn’t allow me. I waited for the worse. For any punishment. I don’t run from the consequences of my acts. My gaze shifted from Ruvindra to Heyel as I waited.
