Name: Alcide. Age: Fourteen. Gender: Male. Eye Color: Extremely dark brown eyes, nearly black, with tiny flecks of grayish blue. Appearance: He is a large wolf (40 inches, weighing approximately 155 pounds), built thick through his chest. Well defined muscles lay over his back and his legs are sinewy. He has a very strong jaw. His coat is dense and a myriad of greys, blacks, tans, and browns. Personality: Loyal to a leader he believes in. Not afraid to voice his opinion when he thinks it is needed. A true pack wolf, he does not have the pride of an alpha, but he does have the determination worthy of a rank of beta. He is wholly devoted to Moonglow and their pups, and has been seperated from them since before the blast. Imprint: Moonglow. Progeny: Sleekwing, Swallowbane, Orca Sample: "Rewarded with the pooling of warm blood in his mouth, Alcide knew his attack had been well aimed. He can feel the life draining from the beast, but does not relinquish his hold. Slowly, the prey is brought to the ground, and only when the creature’s heartbeat ceases does Alcide release the death blowing grip he had held. His own heart pumped ferociously with the thrill of the hunt and kill. His ears lay flat against his skull and he growls deep in his chest, proud of the hunting party’s success. Breathing heavily from the adrenaline rush, he backs away from the prey, knowing that he only holds rank over a few of the wolves present. He looks to Demetri, the highest ranking wolf and the leader of the hunt. The chase had brought the buck to the very edge of Solevion’s borders, and they would need to move it to a more advantageous location to prevent loners, another pack, or scavengers from attempting to take it from them. Alcide knew that no foe would be a match for the five of them, but the hunt had taken a lot out of them, and it was better to be safe than sorry. Sizing up the kill, Alcide knew they would need to dismember the carcass to successfully relocate it. Once Demetri’s approval has been gained, Alcide moved forward once more and tore at the flesh of the animal’s exposed left hindquarters. He dug at it viciously, separating the muscle and eventually disconnecting the entire limb from the body. The full haunch was a heavy load, having detached just below the pelvis, but Alcide was a large wolf and could bear the burden. He waited for the other wolves to gain purchase on what they would bring back to their alphess. Once each wolf had torn off a piece, Alcide assisted in burying the remaining pieces of the deer. He marked the spot; this way they would be able to return for the rest at a later time. Lifting his prize, he moved in the direction of the clearing where the pack most often met. Although they would have to leave at least some of the Moving in the company of his hunting partners, Alcide remained quiet, focused on making sure his entire quarry made it to the clearing, to be placed before the alphess. The hind foot dragged slightly on the ground, but it would not damage the rest of the meal. After approximately a thirty minute walk, the five wolves emerged in the clearing. His dark eyes glanced around at his compatriots before he lowered his head, placing the haunch on the ground. The large male then lifted his head and howled to the skies, calling on Boneclaw and the rest of the pack, announcing the victorious hunt and asking the pack to come and feast with them.
