In his dreams, there was always ice. Slowly creeping across the fertile ground, killing every tuft of grass, every piece of life that dared thrive. The ice was beautiful as it encompassed the world, stretching endlessly across the plains, freezing rivers, covering hills and killing all those unfortunate to cross his path. He watched with gleeful eyes as the Romance River slowly froze, as the hapless females and bossy, insufferable males dying as their very forms turned rock hard as the cold overtook them. He watched the last, shivering survivors huddle together, no longer smiling their foolish, fickle grins, until they too succumbed to the drastic temperature and were covered by a glossy coating. Finally, the world was encased in ice. It was majestic and pure, and it continued to extend its influence even beyond the earth's boundaries. Ice twisted and curled its way up Misty Mountain, until finally forming a spire at the pinnacle of the mount, from whence it dared to claim the sky for its own. Finally, the ice devoured the sun, quenching its fire, leaving only the moon to shine down heartlessly on the scene.

He was lucid, tranquil, aware of the farce, yet accepting it. The dream was just that, a dream, but even so, he would rather think of it as prophecy over wishful thinking. Naraku was perfectly content to think of the vision as one huge allegory. He was the cold, the ice his influence, and soon, with the help of those who would gather, he would extend said influence all throughout Blossom until fear had touched every single wolf within. His reign would be a glorious one. From the shadows, he hoped to punish the whole world for their happiness. After all, if he wasn't allowed to be happy, why should anyone else have that privileged. He felt sick as he considered what he had seen of main Blossom – wolves frisking about, puppies playing in the sun, lovers going on the most sickeningly cute dates amongst the flowing grasses. It was insufferable and unforgivable how they lived their entire existences without ever knowing the pain of loss of the fear of death. Not for long. It was his aim to punish them for such idiocy, and punish them he would, even if he had to sacrifice every pawn in the game to do so.

With the deadly chess board and the game he was going to play in mind, the large, shaggy furred wolf sauntered into the place from whence he would begin the next stage of his operation. Naraku's muscled frame, cold eyes and facial scar rarely failed to frighten surrounding canines , save in the Caverns. Within the deathly catacombs in which the vilest of creatures dwelt, the majestic canine still stood out, but no one here feared him for his looks. A collection of misfits, evil in spirit but unmotivated in nature, thrived within the passages. The grey wolf had just sent Byakuya off on an errand, and had managed to ditch Gollum, the pallid stalker that clung to him for some reason, for the time being, so he entered alone. His steps were assured as he entered the place, and no hesitation could be seen in his posture. The antechamber had nothing of interest in it, but as he padded through the convoluted passages, a nostalgic sense of amusement to touched his heart. Corpses of long dead wolves, smears of blood along the walls, scents of smug ownership and twisted games, the unmistakable perfumes of lust and rot. Rather than being unnerved, Naraku found the whole thing to be slightly funny, like a vaguely skilled comedian's first act. It was obvious that the denizens of these caves were twisted, and those who were twisted could be manipulated to do his bidding.

Since the last time he had visited, he'd sent his servant to do a bit of interior decorating in his chosen cave. The improved positioning of the skeletons improved the ambiance of the dread place. With a smirk, the heartless demon walked past the prone forms of what were once wolves and sat in the middle of the chamber. Tilting back his crown, the aqua eyed beast let his voice loose on the environment. He had a chilling howl, haunting in timbre. His cry called for the ones he had meant on his past trip to come, and also welcomed new faces to come join in on the fun at hand.
