At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The subject of mates seemed to be one that, although uncomfortable, gave the pair something to talk about for a brief while. He didn’t care to talk about mates, it brought back the horrid memories of his past but if it sparked up a conversation between them then he would put up with it. The lass was now starting to become mellower and nicer, it was clear in her voice... Mind you so was he. He couldn’t quite understand what was happening to him, but he was actually talking to a female and being nice. This really wasn’t helping his reputation. Ah, well. It looked like this place really was changing him; sooner than he had expected. The lass exclaimed that she had never really thought about having a mate before and seemed to shrug off the idea. She then announced that she had never had the overwhelming feelings you get when you meet the ‘one.’ Ly could remember the day he met his mate. How he hadn’t been able to take his eyes off her. He remembered the feelings like they were happening right now........

Words echoed around his mind as they brought him out of his trance. It took the brute a while to process what had been asked but it did soon enough. “Um, yeah I’m fine. I guess.” His voice trailed off at the end so his words were near enough inaudible. He looked up to face the lass, his face not showing any emotion what so ever; but deep down inside his heart was aching. He watched as she padded away trailing the water’s edge and back again in a sort of fidgety way. Although she didn’t get far before she stopped her pacing and sat closer to the lad than she had before. In turn the lad shuffled his bodice as he was starting to become uncomfortable. His pistons were aching from his travels but with a little rest he would be back to normal in no time. Maybe being in the company of another would discourage the soldiers to come near him if they found him that was. Although he had trained all the soldiers in the pack- he hadn’t shown them everything he knew. What would be the point in that? He wouldn’t be able to overpower them if he did.

As he was giving out tips the brujo noticed the lass’ amber star gazers lighting up slightly. Obviously he had found a subject that really did interest her. She listened intently to him, lapping up every word he said. She mumbled something that he did not quite hear so he dismissed it. It wasn’t something important as she made it hard for him to hear. Once they had finished the conversation her face immediately changed back to the cold, hard stone it had been before. The light in her amber orbs had disappeared and instead were staring harshly.

In no time the lass was speaking again and was giving an answer to his question. She seemed to stare at him, puzzling it through her cranium before she spoke. She seemed a little hesitant with her answer but she accepted the offer none the less. She seemed like she had only said it to make him happy, but in all honesty he didn’t care either way. If she wanted help then the offer was there but if not it wouldn’t bother him in the slightest. “If you don’t want help then just say. You don’t need to be polite with me.” His tone was emotionless. He listened as she carried on with her answer. She brought up the idea of hunting and the monster’s ears perked up. His belly grumbled angrily. It screamed for him to give it food. He hadn’t eaten for weeks and his last energy reserves were starting to fade. If he didn’t hunt now and bring something down then he wouldn’t ever and it would mean him having to scavenge of others. No amount of scavenged food would get the brute back to his normal weight and strength. “I could start any time you wanted, although I guess I am hungry to.” He stood shaking his ebony coat, dust flying off it. “Hunting sounds good, I guess then you can practice techniques.” He gazed around the lake. He was new here after all and didn’t quite know where they would be able to go to hunt. There didn’t seem to be any prey near and his sensitive nose couldn’t pick up the scent of anything in the immediate area. “Do you know where there is any prey?” He looked at the femme. Hopefully she would know where to go otherwise it would mean trekking round unknown territory and to be honest the devil couldn’t be bothered wandering round pointlessly searching for food; especially on low energy reserves anyway. He turned to face the clearing he had entered from and waited for the lass. “You ready?”
