NAME : Orpheus

AGE: 2
GENDER: Male
EYE COLOR: palest yellow

APPEARANCE: Orpheus will top out at about 110 pounds, and an overgrown 36 inches tall at the shoulder. He has a very lean, waiflike frame and his body is covered in a solid white pelt that is more thin and wispy than is typical. He has no further markings but his eye linings and lips are black.

HISTORY : The last son of the late Dahrius (originally of Scotavia, imprint and mate of Reina, best friend to Bahamut), Orpheus was born outside of Moladion and was named in memory of his brother who had died in the floods many, many years before.
IMPRINTABILITY: Yes

SAMPLE:

No, she was far from mesmerized by his lady sea. Iaera did not fear the salt water, but she did mistrust it and its unknowable nature... In that same breath she could appreciate all the secrets that it held, and the vast number of discoveries there were to be made within the depths. She preferred her island and its damp forest, marshy salt grass lowlands, and rocky tide pools where she could be both worthy of her blue-glowing-brand as well as true to the form into which she’d been born. Iaera was simply more comfortable feeling as though she had access to the entire world—to be water bound, as some wished to be—that idea itself almost frightened her.

She was not spared emptiness however, for Iaera was by result of her very nature almost always alone. Physically she could never be without a companion, for she drew others to herself with incredible ease, at least most others. Iaera found she could not concoct the performance needed to lure the being that stood before her beneath the churning clouds, she simply would not know where to begin if she could even so much as manage to collect herself enough to consider formulating a strike.

”I suppose neither of us will.” She replies, gazing at him with wide uncertain eyes. Her whole mind might have translated his speech into what it should have been. However the difficult swim and the pain in her shoulder had sapped her creative energies all the more. The golden girl cannot think enough to create the charming assemblage of words that would tell him that he unsettles and silences her. That would quite defeat the purpose though, wouldn’t it? A dozen thoughts slogged between her temples. She thinks of Oleander. Sees the reds and purples of the tide pool’s urchins in high color... Remembers her mother nudging encouragement to take that second and third brave step.

On the tail of that memory she takes another brave step, though it feels slow and stupid from the inside. She looks delicate and ethereal as she draws her body up to Selachii’s. Iaera hesitates a moment, taking him in from this angle before running her muzzle along his neck. Her touch passes just beneath his gills, the stallion’s water corded mane brushing her sculpted face. It is with that touch she bids him adieu,”I will let you return to your sea. I will be here if you want to find me…Selachii.” She paused before giving his name its own breath and heartbeat in which to live. Then she was gone.

Her ballerina legs bore her away from him and toward the tangle and shelter of her twisted forest. Thunder snarled overhead and the rain broke a moment later, spilling from the clouds in a torrent of fat rain drops. One would think that she would be sick of being soaked to the skin, but she hardly noticed the water rolling into her eyes. Iaera stopped as lightening lit the forest ahead of her and showed it for the dark labyrinth that it was. She pivoted, snaking back toward the place where she’d left him and despite the ache in her shoulder she galloped back the words neither of us will be alone still alive in her ears, echoed once and again by the thunder that shook the air.

So the slender painted girl returned to him, taking a risk as she stepped into his personal space and slid her body against his, first shoulder to shoulder, then her muzzle brushed his barrel and lips whispered against the rise of his hip. ”Unless, you would rather stay upon my island tonight.” She speaks loud enough to be heard, but no more. Her skin quivers against the contact with Selachii’s, and she breathes in the smell of sea and salt that rolls from his pelt. She could not walk away, she could not be alone…she would keep him here, with her.. .Just this once.
