Feathertail padded into the cave. She knew there would be others to share secrets with, but she wasn't interested. All she wanted to do was become famous. She told herself over and over again she would be the wolf who found the beast and be rid of it forever.

She padded deeper and deeper into the cave passing many wolves. Any wolf could join her on her journey to find this beast. As she went farther into the cave, her heart rushed. What could this beast be? Why in this cave? When will it give itself up? So many questions soon to be answered.

Her paws tingled in the coolness of the floor as she came nearer to where beast was dwelling. She didn't bother check if anyone was following her. She thought not of losing her life, when she did she didn't care. As long as the beast died and someone lived to tell the tail, she would be fine.

She had no idea about her pups back home mourning for her to return. She had no idea that their father had never came home from a hunting trip, for he had died. Her pups mourned from hunger. What she did know was that her sister was lingering near so she had no worry for them.

She swore she heard faint paws steps behind her, but never checked. Will anyone join her in this brave fight? Or will Feathertail have to face him down herself
