Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

but I won't let this world wipe me out

It was strange to think that things were indeed so very different and yet, well, she did not feel any different. She had looked around her the day of Isola's initiation she saw the same faces; Moth, Azrael, Ava, even Devil May Cry. All faces she recognised and knew - perhaps some had been missing, but she had not taken any real notice. The world may have changed but not Malina's. She'd never truly had friends as the others did - the one friend she did take, Cayen, had been a task in the end from her Master himself. When it came down to it, the truth was simple: the closest she'd ever been to having a real friend was her Master, Heyel. It was almost a little depressing, or would have been to others at least, but not to her. She was okay with it all for whereas the others wept and dragged their paws around, she had been able to report immediately to duty. Her mother was safe. Her brother was safe. Her family and one damn friend were safe - hell, even Azrael and Letum were safe. She'd lost nothing but the red plateau and perhaps for that reason alone she had not been inclined to stray from Isola and Kane's pack - it was what she was used to. It was the very same world she had been born into, lived within and came back to. Heyel had done her a favor for keeping her away from the others and part of her was thankful for that.

Of course, she was never entirely thankful for the snide remarks that were sure to follow each and every time she called for Heyel. It was hard not to retort with some kind of vicious whip but she had learnt long ago that it never bode well for her every time she did that - besides, she had plenty of time to do so once she had gotten what she had come for. Still, it seemed the King wasn't using his head and for that he got at least a roll of her eyes and a huff beneath her breath before she spoke, ears flattened back slightly and brow raised.

"Ego sum usura caput meum," her voice curt as she nodded to confirm her own statement before continuing, "I am wanting to get this mess cleaned up before it has time to fester."

Surely Heyel understood the need to rid the new world of the scum before it had time to breed, repopulate and become a plague once more. Did he forget that Tobias had survived and what had happened last time they let him go unchecked? He'd eaten Paracon wolves, Litherum wolves - hell, he'd even tried eating a Trenus wolf or two (he'd even succeeded in more than one instance.) It was a good enough reason to be impatient so impatient she would be - she flopped her tail side to side as loudly as possible, yawning just as loudly at one point. She'd continue as such until Heyel was completely and utterly roused and ready to enjoy the brand new day - a whole day of giving Malina names, locations and history lessons on future targets, that was. But wouldn't that be fun? Eventually, though, it seemed even Heyel had some streak of impatient for finally he rose - hopefully from irritation at her persistence and fearlessness of driving him just a little up the wall. Though she still feared him giving her an unsightly, half chewed ear - she didn't so much fear a paw to the face or bite to the scruff anymore. Nope, she could annoy and pester him all she wanted because at the end of the day - she'd probably still be able to duck, dip and dive beneath him to get away.

At his arrival, she did offer him some kind of friendly wave of the tail and a slight bow of the head but as he passed, she rose to follow. It'd always been that way - he liked to walk and talk and she liked to walk and pester. He should have just been thankful that her mother copped the full brunt of such a thing before he had plucked her out of the Trenus puppies for training - she still remembered parading about her mother, looping and twirling beneath her paws, blasting her with questions and requests. Mum, teach me to fight - mum, what's this herb do? Mum, when can I be like the King and Queen? Of course, her questions were at least a little more reasonable now - who were they and when can I kill them? Morbid? Perhaps. But necessary.

"Indeed I have come to collect the list you promised - I need names and anything else you know about them," she asserted, her gaze sliding side wards and matching his own smirk, "They've survived too long and despite the sky falling, it seemed they are still present. Just yesterday I found remains - not only remains, but the scent of Tobias near by too. Along with others, of course, but we both know all too well the kind of company he would keep, yes?"
