Talia's heart warmed at his words. She knew that her pups needed her, but the admission that Blaze needed her to made her happy. It gave her hope that maybe they did have something. It was more than she could ever hope for.
She watched as he pointed out her error. Her ears twitched with embarrassment as he deftly bandaged the wound and limped back over to her. She committed everything to memory. Cobwebs were good for stopping bleeding and moss was good for packing. With her sons around, they would surely be rough and tumble and injure themselves.
His smile went straight to her heart. She was glad he could smile. He was on his way to being healed.
Then he told her she should leave. She instantly thought of her pups and looked around at the sinking sun. It was certainly getting late. He asked her if he could come with her and her gentle gaze rested on him for a moment.
"I wouldn't mind. Can you walk as far as Blossom Field?" She asked, taking in his injured shoulder.
"I'll have to tell my pups to be easy with you. We don't want your shoulder getting worse." She said, thinking out loud.
"If you're sure you can walk..." She trailed off, running out of things to say.
She had no reason at all to worry about him with her pups. The five pups were only a little bit of a pawful. Her three daughters and two sons would accept him without question. Their father died long before they were even born. She glanced back at the setting sun. Replies:
