Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

restless: i found your weakness

She had heard the voice, heard the crisp sound of bitterness within it. Bitterness had not been so often found those days - she had heard sadness, defeat and even madness but bitterness? It implied so much and the sound itself had lured her in like the bees to spring flowers; this stranger, this boy of whom she had decided to trail - he had become her new lily. But why he? Why the male who spoke with such coldness - the male caked in blood and stench? Truthfully, it was a simple thing: he reminded her of herself. He reminded her of Iromar - of Fatality even, caked in stale blood. Part of him even reminded her of Heyel, the fallen Angel King. All in all, he reminded her of things that made her glad and for that reason alone, he had become of utmost importance.

With precise paws she followed him, each step long and slow as she weaved around stone and tree alike. Her entire body was alert, ears cupped forward and tail trailing rigged behind her. The Eastern crater had been an area she had avoided up until recently; the Angel King and his hoard had made their home atop the ridge and that had been reason enough to stray. She held no negativity for such a pack but alas, they remained as a threat to her pack and therefore herself. They, or at least Heyel, had been convinced that she lead her own hoard of demons and yet, she found herself in disagreement - if Fatality had been a demon, why had she hunted for Ruvindra? Why had she coiled up alongside her when the nights fell cold? Demons did not love, or so Ruvindra had been lead to believe so long ago and truly the sheer implication that her children may very well be in the same basket as Tobias offended her to no end. Thoughts that made her teeth slide back on one another, grinding for a moment as she continued along after her white flower until he came to a halt by the riverside.

The moment he stopped, as did she; her entire body became rigged, her mind ripped away from prior thoughts as she merely observed. He was different from the others, that she could understand and slowly, her head tilted from left to right in curiosity. After some moments of consideration and with a flicker of her broad ears, she slid forward in long, graceful strides until she came to stand beside the male - she left considerable distance between she and he, watching him once more from the corner of her lavender eyes. It was then that she found the strange whites of his eyes - he lacked pupil and yet, how did he move so carelessly? Her own son, Vidar, failed in one eye and often enough, she had found him moving awkwardly or with uncertainty. But this male... how? She remained composed even with the obnoxious question begging to be asked and slowly lowered to her haunches, her brush-like tail looping around her paws and swaying lightly. Without acknowledgement besides from the prior sounds of her paws atop stone and rubble, she turned to face him before flashing him a coy smile. She was curious - would he acknowledge her silent display of kindness? Or did those eyes truly echo with nothingness? In her silence she waited before twisting her head back to face over the river, eyes narrowed slightly though her near-playful grin remained.

"Fools -" she repeated, her voice gentle and honey sweet, "You shall find a myriad of them in these lands, that I can assure you; unless, of course, you have discovered such a truth yourself, yes?"
